.Directions: this site has no street address and is near the town of Marsden, Saskatchewan. The nearest city is Lloydminster (to the north of the site). From the junction of Hwy. 17 north and Hwy. 14 east of Wainwright, travel east 8.1 km to Artland Road (5 km east of Marsden on Hwy.40). Turn north & travel 4.6 km to the access road into the site. Look for the SCA signs. Driving from the USA: Take your best route to Spokane. >From Spokane go to Coeur d'Alene take the US-95 to Sandpoint and through to Bonner's Ferry into BC where it turns into PROVINCIAL HIGHWAY 95 through to Cranbrook - go through Cranbrook just past Cranbrook will be the turnoff to Fernie (HWY 3 ) - follow HWY 3 through the Crowsnest Pass - continue on HWY 3 to the HWY 2 North intersection - it will be signed for Calgary - if you hit Fort McLeod you've gone too far. Stay on HWY 2 North to Calgary through Calgary on HWY 2 (also called the Deerfoot) out of Calgary on North to Red Deer. Stay on the HWY 2 well past Red Deer till you hit the turn off for Camrose heading East (HWY 13) stay on HWY 13 through Camrose to HWY 41 North to Wainwright. In Wainwright you'll turn east onto HWY 14 which will take you across the Saskatchewan border. HWY 14 becomes Saskatchewan Provincial HWY 40. Drive 8.2 km past the Saskatchewan border. Turn north on the Artland road for 4.1 km and follow the signs (castle is 1.2 km from the farm house). So how long will this take? Portland to Spokane 7 (or so I'm told) Spokane to Calgary 8 to 8 1/2 hours. Calgary to Quad 4 1/2 to 5 hours. Total travel? On the outside? about 21 with border crossing but without major stops. Flying: You can fly into either Edmonton or Saskatoon. The site is almost right in the middle of the two - so go with whichever is cheaper. The site is about 2 1/2 to 3 hours drive from either city. Both cities are Baronies so there are lost of SCAers to contact regarding rides - there are always folks with room. Oh and remember your birth certificate and photo ID or passport to get into Canada now.
