The time is drawing near for valorous combatants to vie for the honor of becoming the next Champions of Three Mountains. All those who seek to compete for the titles of Heavy Champion, Rapier Champion, Archery Champion, Youth Champion or Arts and Sciences Champion, along with all those who would like to cheer on our brave contenders, please join us for the 2006 Three Mountains Champions Event.

Please be sure to ask Their Excellencies Titus and Kateline for permission to compete for the Championship before the event. In addition, please bring a letter of intent to read at opening court. Competitions will be run by the current Champions. Their contact information can be found on the Three Mountains web page if you have questions. Details for the A&S competition follow.

Time: 10 a.m.- (approximately) 9 p.m.

Fees: (Adult) $8.00, (Youth 16 and under) $5.00, Non-member surcharge $3.00

Schedule:
10:00 a.m. – gate opens
11:00 a.m. – opening Court
12:00 noon – armor inspection; A&S competition begins
1:00 p.m. – rapier & youth begin
2:30 p.m. – heavy & archery begin
5:00 p.m. – potluck feast on the eric
7:00 p.m. – closing Court

For the potluck:

If your modern last name begins with A-H, bring: dessert!
If your modern last name begins with I-P, bring: main course dish
If your modern last name begins with Q-Z, bring: side dish

Arts and Sciences Competition Information:

Entry Requirements:
1) Three entries are required. Choose three of your favorite projects to share with the Populace and discuss with the Judges.

2) Approval of Their Excellencies, Baroness Kateline and Proconsul Titus, is required. After you choose your entries, write a brief letter to Their Excellencies telling Them why you would like to be the A&S Champion of Three Mountains, and what your entries will be.

3) Letter of Intent to the current A&S Champion is required. After obtaining Their Excellencies permission, write me a letter (contact info below) stating your Intent to enter the Championship, and what your entries will be. Deadline for Letters of Intent is May 26, 2006. Your letter must reach me on (or PREFERABLY BEFORE) that date so qualified Judges for your entries can be found.

4) Your presence at Opening Court of the Champions Tournament is required. Prepare your entries and documentation and bring them to the event. The competition will be in the same 4-H building as last year, and tables will be provided for your entries. Come to Opening Court at 11:00 a.m. and declare your Intent to Compete, receive the Encouragement and Approval of Their Excellencies and the Populace of Three Mountains!

*The site is NOT dry, alcoholic (e.g. brewing) entries are allowed.
*Documentation is not required for your entry, but it is *highly recommended*
as a large number of potential points awarded will be for documentation
*Choose entries that you love to talk about, this is your chance to have a ‘captive audience’ for 20-30 minutes…listening only to you, and admiring your work!
*Please send your Letter of Intent as soon as possible; expert judges must be invited, and the sooner I know what you are entering, the sooner I can begin searching for those qualified in the topic of your presentation.
*Be sure to check the links for copies of the judging forms that will be used, helpful articles on documentation and other tidbits.
