Glymm Mere’s Yule Feast- Italy through the Ages
Gate fee $25 for adults, children (under 18yo) free except for feast fees..
The site this year will be the Oakville Grange, eleven miles off of I-5 at exit 88. The address is:

This will be for both the silent auction and an essentials drive
For the essentials drive, anything helps but here are some items that they say are always needed in case you draw a blank and are not sure what to get.

First remove: Ancient Roman Farmers’ Meal of
Savory Toasted Cheese, torn and flat bread, fresh herbs, and a compound butter of 16th century pesto a la Genovese
Ingredients: Brie, Chèvre, Butter, Cream Cheese, ale, breads, and various spices and herbs, pine nuts, garlic
Second Remove:
A Medieval Leek and Turnip Soup for a lean day and an Ancient Roman dressed salat. Spiced meatballs with an agrodolce sauce
Ingredients: leeks, turnips, cream, almond milk, onions, celery, garlic, vegetable stock, field greens, garum/tamari , honey, wine vinegar, dates, various herbs and spices, cranberries, raIsins, apricot, balsamic, lamb, beef
Third Remove:
Renaissance Lasagna (ground lamb or vegetable ) with Medieval lentils and greens
Ingredients: pasta dough, lamb, fresh vegetables – tbd, spices and herbs, butter, broth (meat or vegetable), parmigiana cheese, farmers cheese, eggs, olive oil, lentils, saffron
Fourth Remove:
Medieval Gnocci a la Romana with roasted root vegetables.
Ingredients: flour, egg, spices, parmigiana cheese, pecorino cheese, butter, cream, spices, olive oil, honey, fresh herbs
Dessert:
Medieval Cheesecake with anise or lemon pizzelles. Ancient Roman stuffed dates.
Ingredients: soft cheese, flour, egg, honey, vanilla, sugar, elderflower, Dates, walnuts, pine nuts, honey, goat cheese, spices.

A Spiral Fingerloop Braid: Participants will learn to braid a cord from eight looped threads suitable for any use that one would need a lace or a tie. Yarn/floss provided at no cost. The size of the class is only be limited to how many can fit in the class space provided and still move their arms to their sides without crowding each other.

There are many ways that tailors have used pleating and smocking over the centuries to create distinct silhouettes and effects. This class reviews several types of pleating and how they are created, illustrates multiple smocking techniques, and will finish with a demo of the magical (and post-period) smocking pleater machine.

Become a member of an Imperial Delegation, sponsored by the Roman Senate as they job-shadow a Legion Centurion at his posting in a newly established Frumentarii corps on the Dacian Frontier.
