This is a Level 1: Other (Branch primary events of regional or Kingdom interest) event.

The Long and Short of it is a summer gathering for Terra Pomeranians and friends. Championships will be held for Heavy Fighters, Archery both young and old, and thrown weapons. Prize Tournaments for Rapier, Cut and Thrust, a Youth A&S challenge, and Equestrian Challenges in memory of Mistress Lady Macha the Determined. A potluck will be held Saturday, with a roast provided by the Thegn Clovis and Baronesa Ximena. All attendees are encourage to bring a tasty dish to share.

Youth A&S Challenge: Fraught with tedium never ending, their excellencies Thegn Clovis and Baronessa Ximena seek to end their ennui by experiencing novelty from the most novel of denizens of the lands, the youth abundant. As such, they propose a contest of arts and sciences of all sundry, whether in plethora or miniscule.

The Challenge will be in 2 categories: 12 and under and 13 and older.
Please present an item, process, design, art, or period technique for review by judges.
Please include a short write up about the item and include your Name and Age, What the item is, what period it came from, Where it came from, And why you were inspired to create it.
Judging will be done contact free.
Winners will get a prize.

 

Scribal Salon and Challenge: Terra Pomaria invites you to join the TP A&S Minister for a day of scribal fun in the Scribal Salon at Long and Short!
Come paint cards, charters, or even enter the scribal challenge for a chance to win a prize!
All ages, skill level, newcomer or long-timer are welcome to participate. The Scribal Salon will be open Saturday, August 13th from 10am-2pm.
PotLuck! Saturday after evening court. (Seeking Coordinator, or we can wing it!)
The Barony is providing meat in the form of Beef Brisket and Pork Loin roast.
Everyone is asked to bring a dish to serve 10 people.

There is a limited number of power outlets for hot food options.

Rapier Tournament! A Double Elimination Bring Your Best Tournament, starts after 1pm. A Prize will be offered to the winner.
Equestrian Challenges: 
Our plan is to set up a challenge course that will involve heads, rings, quintain, javelin, tent pegging, maybe reeds, a gate, a pedestal, and maybe some other things. We have 12 stalls available (and the price is only $10 for the weekend). The site owner asks that everyone brings their own buckets, etc. so we don’t pass around any illnesses between our equine friends. We will also be able to authorize ground crew and riders if needed.

-Scribal Salon open 10 am to 2 pm.
11am - Datu Bato & Dayang Emma – “in State” at the Summits Pavilion, Court is available to the populace. Populace members should feel free to come converse or visit with the Royalty.
12pm – Baronessa’s nap time
1pm – Thrown Weapons Champ

2pm – Youth Archery Champ
3pm – Adult Archery Champ
3:30 pm – Datu Bato’s Story time for Youth of All Ages
