Welcome to the Alpine Festival of the Arts – the event formerly known as Arts & Sciences and Bardic Championships.

The name was changed to reflect an expansion in the activities.  The Alpine Scholar and Bardic Championships will be held. The longer event will provide time for an Artisan Showcase – a non-competitive opportunity to display your art, schedule one-on-one discussions with Laurels and other interested artisans.

January 20th is the deadline to declare entrance to both championships and the showcase.

Alpine Scholar Competition, run by Waldgräfin Taran Dæstingr

Each entrant will be required to prepare two entries (instead of three as in years past) with documentation for both. In lieu of a third entry each competitor is asked to prepare a class to offer the populace. This class may be related to one or both of your entries, but does not have to be. We ask that you keep it to an hour or less. No formal documentation will be required for the class but a class handout is encouraged.

Send your letter of intent to participate to:

The Alpine Scholar: bobbinweavecreations @ gmail.com; Minister of Arts and Sciences: SummitsAS @ antir.org; and the Summits Coronet: SummitsCoronet @ antir.org

Include your SCA name, the best way to contact you, level of participation (competing  – 2 entries and a class; Single entry – feedback only; or class only), what you are entering, the title of your class, and, anything else needed to make things go smoothly.

Bardic Championship, run by Lady Margaret ingean Domnaill

The championship will be three rounds. Round one: Strictly period. Give us that sweet, sweet documentation. Round two: Improvisation That morning, contestants will be given four words and must compose a song/story/piece incorporating the words that day. Round three: Your best piece.

To declare send your letter of intent, including your SCA name, the best way to contact you, and anything other info that might be helpful to:

The Summits Bardic Champion, Lady Maggie ingen Domnaill: isadora.trinkle @ gmail.com; The Minister of Arts and Sciences: Master Hrodr-Navar Hakonsson, SummitsAS @ antir.org; Their Alpine Highnesses: SummitsCoronet @antir.org

Artisan Showcase, coordinated by Viscount Seamus O’Caellaigh
