*UPDATE*
Greeting from your Summits Winter Investiture Event Steward,

The event staff is excited to announce that after further planning and review of the site we can accommodate more attendees than we had originally planned for!

We have been working hard to navigate our way through new policies, while also trying to make sure everyone will be as comfortable as possible in a site that we have never used before so we can all have an amazing Winter Investiture.  I can’t thank enough all the people working to help me get this worked out, and I’m also very appreciative of the populace support and patience.

All those who pre-registered in the first round will be able to attend the event.  There is also space for another 25 people making the total attendance 225 people.

Since we can accommodate more attendees, pre-registration will open again Monday evening at 6 pm to fill those slots.  Confirmation emails will be sent upon completion of the form noting that the form was received.  PayPal invoices will be sent to all those pre-registered soon after.  Anyone who winds up on the wait list will be notified by the pre-registration team.

Please keep in mind that you must still pre-register in order to attend the event.

Additionally, if you can no longer attend and have already pre-registered, please let us know ASAP.

Hope everyone is well and see you all soon!

Tournament Information

Steel fighters and Populace of the Summits:
Join me on Saturday, December 18 AS LVI (2021) at Philomath Scout Lodge (660 Clemens Mill Rd, Philomath, OR 97370) at the much anticipated investiture of their Excellencies Viscount Luciano Foscari and HL Tessina Felice Gianfigliazzi, where I will have the honor of throwing the 26th Summits Rapier Championships to determine the next Captain of Cats.
Per the instructions of their Excellencies and Highnesses, combatants must be members of the Summits or ask (and gain) permission.
Time of tournament if TBD, but early in the day. Plan accordingly!
Please remember to inspect your equipment and re-read the An Tir Book of Rapier Combat BEFORE you pack your gear and leave for the tournament.
Be prepared to process and introduce your inspiration and yourself (with your lineage) to the Crown and Coronets.
Please bring a list shield for the list board: the populace in attendance and at home wants to know who is fighting whom, and how everyone is progressing.
Format of the tournament will depend on the number of entrants, but most likely either be round-robin to top 2 or 4; or a standard double-elim, reminiscent of the days of yore!
As a reminder, per Summits Law, Art. III, the Captain of Cats, as an Officer of Court, unless otherwise authorized by their Highnesses:
Summits Principality Law ARTICLE III.
A. Officer Responsibilities
1.) All Officers of Court and State shall:
a.) Be a paid member of the SCA Inc. and have access to the Crier, the Echoes, and official Summits website at their place of residence.
b.) Be a minimum of eighteen years of age.
c.) Be a resident of the Principality and active for at least one year prior to holding an office and reside within the Principality for the duration of their term of service.
d.) Execute the lawful commands of the Crown of An Tir and the Coronet of the Summits and abide by Society, Kingdom and Principality Law and policies.

i.) Attend Moot at each Coronet Event. (I seem to remember this one being removed, however, as per the most recent posted Summits Law (2017), it is still in effect).
2.) No Principality Officer may hold more than one office at a time (i.e. a branch and/or a Principality and/or a Kingdom office at the same time). Exceptions may be granted by both of the relevant superior officers, in writing, with the concurrence of the Coronet (in the case of an Officer of Court) or the Principality Seneschal (in the case of an Officer of State) on a case-by-case basis.
