Come compete for the honor of becoming a Champion of Wastekeep!! There will be tournaments for Heavy, Youth Armored Combat, Archery, Youth Archey, Rapier and Youth Rapier. There are flushies onsite. There is also a splash pad located in the park should it get warm enough.
The site is located near downtown Waitsburg which offers a small grocery store, several restaurants and a coffee shop.
Come join us under the pavilion Friday night as you are setting up your encampment. We will have soups and stews available as, no need to worry about cooking or washing dishes afterwards. There will be disposable bowls and spoons. There will also be space to socialize and games available to play.
If you would like a reservation to camp on the eric please contact Baroness Gudrun over messenger or email aisling23@gmail.com. All other camping will be open, camp where you wish.
There will be a few RV spaces available along the road that boarders the park. There is unfortunately no power or water hook ups available.
There is potable water onsite and a few CPAP machines could be powered from the power in the restroom however extension cords would have to be supplied by the attendee.

Tournament Information

Baronial Heavy Championship Tournament

The tournament format is going to be a Valhalla Tournament. The last person standing wins. Ultimately a large round robin where everyone fights at once. When you did all the fighters you kill return to the field. The winner must then defeat all fighters on the field.

 

Baronial Rapier Championship Tournament

The tournament format is a round robin. If there are enough fighters there will be two erics. Best two of each eric will compete in the final rounds. If there is a small number of fighters, it will be just a round robin.

 

Baronial Archery Championship Tournament

William Tell Shoot

Each Archer will have 2 arrows per round.
The first arrow will be to shoot the apple off your “son’s head”.
If you hit the cabbage (Head) or even if you think you did, you have 10 seconds to shoot the Sheriff (Black Plate). If you do not hit the cabbage, no points will be gained.

Points
Apple: +10 points
Cabbage: -5 points
Black Plate: +5 points

Initially 6 rounds, if no clear winner, then the top few Archers will shoot 3 more rounds. After that Sudden Death if needed. Leaders must score points, even if they are negative.

 

Fun Archery Tournament

Gathering Exotic Plants– There are so many new blooms and leaves to find in the spring; let’s gather them all! Come to a fun shoot at 20 yards where you will be “gathering” some exotic-looking plants and flowers that have something ~mysterious~ in common

Classes Offered

  • Tile Painting
While tapestries adorned the walls of the chilly European hall further south surrounding the Mediterranean tiles can be found adorning both inside and outside of living spaces. As part of this class, we will be going over some history and examples of historic tiles as found during the SCA period as well as techniques for designing and painting your own tiles. Attendants will then be provided the supplies to decorate their own tiles which will then be fired at later date and returned to them allowing them to have their own piece of art.
Class Size will be limited to 15 participants ages 12+ (All children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult during the class)
Cost: $5 per person to cover supplies and firing costs
  • Visual Heraldry Basics
Tinctures, ordinaries, and charges, oh my! Brush up on your heraldic knowledge or come get an introduction. Sergeantry candidates encouraged!
  • SCA Geography
A review of Known World Kingdoms, as well as the An Tir Baronies and Inlands branches
  • Corpora Kingdom Law
Learn what you need to know to navigate Kingdom Law and Copora at a high level, where to find resources, and how to ask the right questions
  • War Sciences 
This class will provide a brief overview of 3 different areas in the field of War Sciences. It will go over the different weapons and armors of the time and why they evolved to the next. As well as different types of castles and the benefits of each in the time period along with the various accouterments that can be found. Last but not least, we must know how to siege said castles and what tactics/equipment that were commonly used.
  • Kurdish Wedding Dance 
Come join the fun and dance the Kurdish wedding dance. A line dance of the Kurdish people, danced to awesome Middle Eastern music. No experience or equipment needed.
