“Welcome Home!” Join us for the 43rd Sir Edwards Tourney! The Shire of Thornwood invites you to join us for a weekend full of fun, fighting, and festivities. We will have competitions to find our new Champions in Heavy, Rapier, Archery, A&S!

Competitions will be held all day to determine the New Champions in the following areas:
Heavy: Our famous Holmgang Heavy Tourney
Rapier: A Round Robin or Honlgang depending on the number of participants
Archery: Format TBA
Arts and Sciences: A&S during the time of the Plague
Thrown Weapons: TBA
Bardic: TBA

Day Food, at the Rampant Miffin Tavern! (Vegetarian and options available)
Merchants! We have room for more merchants please contact TBD!
Silent Auction: We have hundreds of items for you to bid on! funds raised will go to the Shire of Thornwold.

Eddies will be a three-day camping event!
Note: The county has a 10pm quiet curfew. This is not to say that people can’t party and enjoy themselves, but we cannot have loud music, drum circles, and the like after this time.

Service animals only on-site, no pets. This is an insurance thing with the site.

Smoking at your campsite or out at the parking lot. Please be respectful of your neighbors.

We must follow all federal laws, and cannot have marijuana on site.

Pancake Fundraiser

Join us Sunday morning to get a little fuel for teardown and the ride home.

Guinness Cake Fundraiser

In honor of the memory of our dear friend Sir Thorkel we will have a Guinness cake fundraiser that starts after Court. Please bring a Guinness cake, and/or buy slices of the cakes that are brought! For a donation of $5 you get a slice of the cake of your choosing! All money will go to the memorial fund to be used to provide loaner shields for the new fighters of the shire. Each person who donates a cake will receive a token of appreciation.
Please bring a card with your name and the ingredient list for your cake.

Tournament Information

Heavy Championship Tourney
Traditional Holmgang style tournament, two 30 min rounds. First-round is to first blood or stepping out of the circle. Second-round is standard kill rules, as well as stepping out of the circle. The most wins across both rounds will be declared champion of THornwold and receive a scroll and shield created by Sir Ulfgar and painted by Pani Jadwiga.

Rapier Championship Tourney
This will be fought in the traditional holmgang style like the heavy tourney. The winner will receive the title of champion and a scroll. We are looking for a donation of a tourney prize.

Archery Championship Tourney
TBA
The prize is a scroll, title of champion, and a dozen arrows donated by Mistresses Megan and Mersha

A&S Tourney
Did you learn something new? Finished an old project? Started a new project? Didn’t finish a project? Do you want to make something about the plague? Or how to survive quarantine, plague, or anything else to do with your experience in the last 2 years

Bardic and Thrown Weapons
TBA
Currently, our shire does not have the setup for Thrown Weapons and as such cannot host them. However, if you have the weapons and would like to help run the tourney, please let us know! We do have some targets.

Volunteer Information

We are still looking for volunteers to help set up on Thursday!
We are currently looking for marshals, and people to help at the gate!
We are still looking for someone to run our silent auction!

Merchant Information

Merchants welcome!
Please let us know the name of your booth and a quick blurb about what you sell.
Merchants can come on-site at Noon on Friday
Location is first come first serve, and all merchant booths will be facing the event field.
If you have a few pictures of the items you are selling we’d love to see them, so we can show off on our event page.
No merchant fee! We as for a donation that will be added to our largess to be given to the site crew.

Classes Offered

Enchanted Grounds Luncheon: 
Hosted by Mistress Mersha
When you cross the barrier into the enchanted ground the modern world fades away. Join the Carps, Red Flames, and Swans of An Tir for a in-persona luncheon! In this space, topics will be kept to in-persona, and it is a perfect opportunity to leave the real world behind for a few hours! New to persona development? That’s okay! We are happy to work with you and teach as we go.

We will have a demo and crafting area available. Feel free to let us know if you would like to host a class!
If you have a project you want to work on, feel free to join us in our A&S area. Tables and chairs will be provided.
