Court for Bardic Champion!

Their Excellencies will hold a roving court, roving where they see fit and assessing the skills of their assembled Bards.

Bards everywhere!  The Madrone Bardic competition will be held at this event.  Things to note:

  • Your presentation will be to the assemblage as they are.  IE a potentially raucous tavern crowd who will be talking, gaming, eating, toasting, and not necessarily paying rapt attention to you.  Be a true performer and fit yourself into the mood of the moment.
    • Perform an old standard that others know and lead them to sing along.
    • Be so stylish and interesting that the hall falls to a hush, just to listen to you.
    • Be so loud that it does not matter if the hall is quiet, everyone can hear you anyway.
    • Pick the one moment when the natural ebb and flow of the conversation fades and insert your performance.
  • There will be no specific times or performance spaces set aside, be courteous to your fellow performers.  If someone is already performing, do not try to perform over them.  If you are performing, end after one story, song, or what have you and wait a few minutes, if no-one then steps up to perform then you may perform again if you wish.
  • You may perform on the stage if you wish, on the floor, at a table (not on a table, these are not our tables), in a corner, outside at the fire, let your imagination flow.
  • Have fun and be assured that their excellencies will be watching and listening even if you are half a room away.
