The Shire of Appledore would like to invite you to participate in our annual PJ Party May 28th thru 30th

PJ Party vs. Godzilla

(a casual event in which we encourage people to break out their alternate middle eastern persona and attire, if they wish) Kind Gentle Folk Please come to Skunk Hollow for this unofficial SCA event and help us select our new Shire Champion.

The field is open for all those who would like to take up the challenge to carry our name and honour for the next year

Categories for Challenge:

Arts ( meditation garden befitting your persona, we will supply the base and sand, the rest is to be found on site)

Heavy fighting

Archery

Bardic

Science (model of working siege weapon, may be pre-prepared if desired)

Rapier

Inspirational behaviour – (will be the deciding factor in the event of a tie)

*Be aware that categories to be judged and awarded points so you do not necessarily have to enter all to win. The holder of the Shire Championship must be a current member of the SCA!

Cost: $5.00 a head / $15.00 family cap (for those blood-related and living in same domicile)A potluck feast will be held Saturday evening at 6ish. We encourage people to bring a dish (with an Asian flair would be nice) to feed themselves plus 10 others

Schedule:

Gates open Friday May 28th 4pm & close 2pm Sunday

Opening- Saturday 10am

Judging of Arts -to follow immediately

Heavy Fighting -Saturday noonish

Archery -to follow Heavy

Bardic- to be held during potluck feast starting around 6pm

Science- Sunday at 10ish

Rapier- to follow

Closing Ceremonies directly after rapier

Directions to our site are posted our website. The days can be hot and the nights cool, so be prepared.
