Tentative: depends on Crown Council location. MACHIAVELLI
Each year for one night, Danescombe becomes a Republic and is
governed by the Doge. Reigning Doges hardly ever survive the
last remove of the annual Machiavelli feast and it is up to
the populous to select a successor by the end of the night’s
festivities. In honour of Niccolo Machiavelli, chivalry,
honour, trust, and loyalty are abandoned. Instead
Danescombe’s Court becomes a hotbed of intrigue, treachery,
and assassination! The only rule is: there are no rules! The
Machiavelli feast is also the venue for Danescombe’s Arts
& Sciences Defender’s Competition and will play host to
the Bardic Defender’s Tournament this year as well. The site
will open at 9am. Newcomers classes will begin at 10am and go
until noon. We will take a moment of silence at 11am to
honour Rememberance Day and all it stands for. In the
afternoon there will be room outside for fight pracice if the
weather cooperates. Inside will be classes – schedule coming
soon. Judging for the A&S competition will happen at 4pm.
The category for this year is culinary. These can be
flavorful or a subletly (food that looks like something). The
end result will be contributed for the potluck. The feast
will begin at 6pm. Bardic will begin as soon as everyone has
their food and the Machiavellian portion of the evening will
begin as soon as the bardic comptition is over . . . Site fee
is: Adults $6.00 (NMS of $4.00 in effect) 12 and under –
$3.00
