__IRISH FEAST – MARCH 23, 2002__

The Shire of River’s Bend invites you to come to our 17th annual Irish
Feast. We will celebrate All Fools Eve with a Best Subtlety contest, as
well as Bardic contests in music and storytelling (7 minutes max. per
performance) for Novice, Beginner, Advanced and Master Bards. New
performers welcome.
Bardic competition starts at 2:00pm. We will also encourage people to
bring favorite games to while away the afternoon. Be aware, spontaneous
silliness may erupt at any time.

The populace may also wish to cheer on their favorite horse and rider in
the Children’s Indoor Equestrian Events. Riders must be 11 years old or
younger. Mounts must be sound of wind and back, and brave enough to run
the events with a child on their shoulders. Extra credit will be given for
any mount who wears a barding or “decorated tack”. Events may include
tilting at the quintain and the ring drop. Mounts do not have to be
parental units, but should certainly have their permission.

After this, we hope to have a bit of dancing before and/or after dinner,
while the mounts cool down.

Our potluck feast will begin at 6:00, with the choosing of a King and Queen
of Fools. Feast contribution by modern surname are: A-F:
veggies/salads/side dishes; G-I: meats/main dishes; J-L: soups/stews;
M-S: fruits/desserts; T-Z: breads/cheese. Bring enough to feed your party
plus 10. Please include a list of ingredients (for those who have
allergies).

The prize for the Subtlety contest will announced at dinner, and we hope to
entice some dinner entertainment from the visiting bards. Watch out for
WOAW’s.

Site opens at noon, and closes at 10:00 pm, unless you plan to stay and
help clean.
