Counties, Oregon

Come join the Incipient Canton
of Hauksgarðr as we celebrate the approaching end of
winter with the Feast of Saint Brigid. In addition to an all
ages potluck feast and bardic jam session, we shall be
hosting two contests.

The winter has been long, and
the larders are emptying at an alarming rate!  Bring a
potluck dish that contains elements of what might be left in
the larder after a long winter, or what you might
“find” out in the forests this time of year.
Entries will be judged on a basis of most period and crowd
favorite.

In addition to the cooking
contest, we’ll be hosting a brew contest. Bring samples of
your best brew out to be judged. Type doesn’t matter, be it
mead, beer, cordial or wine. And if your brew didn’t turn out
so well… maybe your flavors are a little off, maybe your
mix is a little too sweet (or sour…) Bring it on out
anyway; in addition to the contest for the best of the best,
we’ll also be looking for the best attempt and most
period.

For both contests please list
ingredients. If you are entering for most period category,
please provide as much documentation as you can. Non-period
dishes are also welcome as potluck contributions.

If you are a musician, please
bring your instruments (or your voice!) and join in the
“bardic jam session”. There’s room for all
around our fire!

Potluck contributions by
mundane last name, enough for your family +10 servings: M-R:
Main dish, S-Z: Side Dish, A-L: Desserts.  Please bring
your own beverage, feast gear, and table setting. Site is
discretely wet. To be kind to those with allergies, please
label your potluck contributions.

$3 Youth 6-17, children 5 and under free. Non-member
surcharge of $3.
