“Let all people of An
Tir, and of all the known kingdoms, who are not banished or
enemies of the King our lord, know that there will be a
great festival of arms and a very noble tourney, both
mounted and on foot, with archers, crests, banners and
horses covered with the arms of the noble tourneyers, as is
the ancient custom, hosted by the very noble and very
powerful Barony of Madrone.”
Complete your tournament season in style at An Tir’s
flagship event for mounted pageantry and historically
inspired tournaments, and welcome their new Excellencies of
Madrone as the changeover will be happening at this event
.
On Saturday, September 25
there will be three parallel tournaments with great
pageantry (equestrian, armored combat on foot, and archery)
all inspired by the 1460 treatise of René of
Anjou. The Noble Judges overseeing the day will be
Jarl Ulfred Draumfjallr, Graf Berek von Langental, Duke
Steingrim Stallari, and Duke Thorin Njalsson.
On Sunday, September 26,
there will be a Tournament of Chivalry, and equestrian
challenge course, and additional archery shoots.
The Emprise will take
place at Reber Ranch, 28606
132nd Ave SE , Kent, WA
98042. The site will
open at 6 p.m. Friday, September 24, and close at 5 p.m.
Sunday, September 26. Please note that this
is not a camping event, although RV’s are possible with
prior arrangement with the autocrat.
The site fee will be
$12 for adults, children 8-15 $10, under 8 free.
Make checks payable to “Barony of Madrone, SCA
Inc.”. There will be a $5 nonmember surcharge
assessed to those without proof of SCA
membership.
10’x12′ stalls are
available for horses
for $12 per day or $20 per day + night, with bedding
included in the price. Please pre-register through the
website below in order to secure a stall.
Some meals will be available
on site for a modest fee, see website for
details.
