The Barony of Wealdsmere’s Flagship event.

Cost: $35 per adult ($10 discount will be applied with proof of SCA membership). Day Trip cost: $25 per adult ($15 after member discount). Children ages 17 and under are free.

It’s another awesome Celtic revolt! Come and witness the spectacle that will be Baron Michael and Baroness Arnora’s last large local event, as they prepare to step down from their thrones.

Site is primitive camping, with port-a-potties and plenty of room for large encampments. Please pack out everything you pack in. No ground fires. Above ground fires, propane fires and tiki torches are allowed. Water (onsite spigot), dirt, arrival soups and lot’s of fun and friendship are the only thing’s provided. Grounds are pine trees, scrub grass, sand and clay.

Friday: Travelers, enjoy a hearty soup, courtesy of the Barony, to help you recover from your travels and prepare to set your camps.

What to expect from Celtic Revolt Courts: Kingdom and Wealdsmere awards will be presented, champions will be inducted along with all the huzzahs you can handle.

Saturday War: Come fight alongside your friends and against your foes in Heavy and Rapier War scenarios.

Saturday night: Come watch the spectacle of firelight tournaments and bardic singing/dancing/storytelling competitions.

Classes:

  • –Forging with Baron Michael (Friday night)
  • –Learn what a German Gollar/partlet is, and how to make one.
  • –Make a truncated Henin or “Posh Hat”
  • –Youth fan painting, felt food making (and fake food fighting) +more

Sunday Championships: Heavy, Rapier, Arts and Sciences, Bardic, Cut and Thrust, Thrown Weapons, Archery competitions, youth armored combat (if there are competitors)… all to earn the right to be called a Champion of Wealdsmere and stand alongside, attend to and defend our Baron/Baroness in court for the next year!  The current Champions each get to run their own tournaments to choose/select their successors, so there’s likely to be a great deal of variety and chaos to watch and entertain everyone.

There is a whole slew of youth activities going on! Kids classes and activities, archery range and throwing axe times, Trebuchets/seige gear training and firing on the war field, ribbon tossing and storytime… Sa’Ada has outdone herself with youth fun this year!

Want a cool photo of yourself in garb? Roma is setting up a photography studio in the tractor barn Sunday afternoon. Pictures will be free for download! Do your best medieval impersonation and impress your mundane friends with professional imagery!

Sergeants Trials: What’s a Sergeant? Glad you asked! They’re the folks who work inside and behind the scenes, helping to make everything as fun as it can be. Come see and learn about the Sergeant Candidate’s as new ones declare their intent, old ones shore up their baronial knowledge, and engaged candidates complete the last portions of their quest books.

The Celtic Big-Hair Showdown: With a prize of a forged hairpin from Sir Devon the Mighty (a Knight I truly look UP to), you know this one’s gonna be good (6pm Sunday).

Come play with us! Well-controlled and cleaned-after pets welcome. No RV hookups available, but there’s room to park a bus if you want to.

Merchants! Interested in selling your wares?  Contact the Steward… no merchant fees.
