Cluny, Alberta

The Prince and Princess of Avacal have declared a tournament to find those
who will succeed them in their Autumn years. The tournament shall be held in
the Shire of Harrows Cross.

Location: Cluny Community hall, there are no street signs in Cluny
(Alberta, Canada). Please follow the bright orange SCA signs.
The only addresses in Cluny are the Legal sight description “Lots 6-12, Plan
855A, Block 13, 21, 12, West of 4″

Directions: Follow the Trans Canada Highway east of Calgary 65 minutes until
the turn off to Cluny, turn right continue until you enter the town .
Hall is on the right at town edge.

Event fee: $20.00 feast and site fee (remember members get $2.00 off and
non-members pay $4.00 NMS)
           Children under 9 are free and
           Children 10-16 pay only $12.00
           There is no off board for the feast.
           The event fee includes the feast and a simple soup lunch.

Feast:
Feast will be very similar to the feast of 1000 dishes, in that each dish
will only serve 10-15. Each dish will be brought down to the head table and
they will have a chance to pick from it, the dishes then will be moved to
the buffet table in front of the stage area for the populace. Each dish will
be accompanied by a card detailing the exact ingredients so those with
allergies can still partake of the feast.
There will be a cash bar on site, due to mundane law no outside alcohol will
be allowed on site.
Lunch will be served from 11 AM till 1 PM,
with the feast starting at 6PM.

Crash Space:
There is crash space available at the hall, please contact the autocrat to
make arrangements. There are hotels in Strathmore or Bassano (each are 25
minutes away) please contact the autocrat for a list.

Merchanting
There is limited merchant space available at the hall (one space is reserved
for a scribal display), the merchant room will be locked each evening.

The tournament

The tournament will be a double elimination format. Entrants can choose any
weapon style they wish. However the style and weapon that they are inspected
with, is the only style and weapon that will be accepted for the entire
tournament. In other words, entrants cannot change weapons styles or weapons
throughout the tournament. A secondary weapon must be presented at
inspection (but this secondary weapon must be similar to the primary
weapon). All fighters must comply with Kingdom tournament standards for
heavy combat.
Please remember that to compete in the tournament both you and your
inspiration need to have proof of valid membership and a subscription to the
Avante Garde.


Timeline:
Site opens 8AM saturday and closes noon on sunday. People who need crash
space on the friday night should contact the autocrat about being let into
the hall.

Lists open at 10:45 AM, fighting to start at noon sharp, feast at 6PM, court
at 7 PM.
Pelicans meeting at 8 AM; Chivalry meeting 8:45 AM; Laurels meeting 9:30 AM.
A soup lunch is included with the feast/site fee and will be served starting
at 11 AM.
Curria to start at 10 AM on the sunday morning.
