Aquaterra’s Coronets, Geirleikr & Zahra, seek out new Champions!

Let the challengers come forth!

The Baron and Baroness of this great Barony of Aquaterra are seeking new champions in the forms of Rapier Armored Combat, Heavy Armored Combat, Games, Thrown Weapons and Archery!

We invite all to come and join in the fun. Our current champions have served us well and are now devising devilishly fun challenges to help us decide who will win the honor of standing as our champions for the coming year.

Our day of Champions will be held this year in Mount Vernon. Our current Heavy Champion has generously opened his estate to us and has given us free reign on the grounds to utilize for this exciting day. We would like to make this day a celebration for all of Aquaterra! We invite one and all to come out for a day of fun. We encourage you to bring your projects to work on and share or just come cheer on your friends. Come, spread a blanket on the grass or bring your camp chairs, fancy or otherwise, and enjoy the fun and company of your fellow Aquaterrans.

We envision a day full of prowess and honor in all disciplines. We would love to coordinate all activities in such a manner that participants get to watch and enjoy all the competitions. Our hope is to stagger the events, so participants get to compete in their desired challenge but also get some time before or after their chosen activity to watch and cheer on the participants in the remaining disciplines.

Specific requirements for our Champions this year are as follows:

A verbal notice of intent to Their Excellencies is required, and a Letter of Intent should be prepared to present in opening court. Aspiring Champions are encouraged to partner with an artist to create a beautiful letter of intent. The level of intricacy of the letter of intent will not affect your tournament results BUT who doesn’t love to showcase pretty things to their peers?

We ask that our Champions be willing to swear an Oath of Fealty or Service to the Barony through Us.

We ask that your Service to the Barony be exclusive to the Barony for the 12 months of your term.*

Know that you will be expected to represent Aquaterra in the Kingdom and beyond, both in your chosen field and in your general comportment.

We ask you to share your knowledge and skills by teaching, especially among newcomers.

*Note, while we prefer those entering to not currently be the Champion of another Branch at the time of entry, we understand that schedules are tricky and we will consider those whose previous championship will end within 60 calendar days from Our championship, provided the other Branch agrees to this time share. Please bring a written statement with your Letter of Intent from the appropriate Coronet if said Branch is a Barony, or from the Seneschal for Shires/Cantons/Colleges.
