Adiantum’s Midwinter Feast Has Been Cancelled!

Unbeknownst to us, Food for Lane county has decided they need to commandeer the church hall because of the ice storm and the need to feed the population. We must graciously surrender the hall and cancel the Adiantum’s Midwinter Feast. An email is being sent to those who made reservations for the feast.

Please spread the word.

Updated 18 January 2024 (Written Directions)

CHANGES DUE TO RECENT WEATHER ISSUES
We are asking everyone to bring your own sack lunch and maybe some nibbles to share with your table mates. Dinner will be a variety of homemade soup and a pork roulade with bread and a dessert.
We will not be charging a feast fee for the food as we cannot keep our original plan but would ask for a Donation if you can.
Gate fee of 10$ (5 if member). Children under 12 are free.
A Morning Beverage Station will be set with hot coffee, hot apple cider, and hot water with a selection of black, green, and blend-your-own herbal teas in the hall. Whole milk, sugar, and honey will be provided. (While supplies last.)
We ask that you bring your own cups, bowls, plates and utensils. Please remember there are no facilities for washing dishes on site, so bringing more than one cup might be helpful and a bag to store your dirty dishes in.
We look forward to spending the day with each and everyone of you and thank you for your patience and understanding.
Thank you,

Tournament Information

Baronial Champion Tournaments and Competitions!

Compete in the Baronial Arts and Sciences Championship!

We are looking for one useful object made within the last year. The more historically accurate the project is, the higher it is likely to score. The winner will have the honor of being Adiantum’s Baronial A & S Champion, and the opportunity to promote the Arts and Sciences in the coming year.

If you wish to compete, please submit a letter of intent to the Baron and Baroness by Jan. 1, 2024. (Baron Brynjarr Olfus and Baroness Isis Sat Ne Nes Bastet, adiantum.coronet@antir.org .)

Adiantum Bardic Championship

Their Excellencies of Adiantum and Their serving Bardic Champion Lord Gryphon Blackhart, invite the Bards of An Tir to compete for the honor of becoming the next Bard of the Barony of Adiantum
The format of the competition is single round. The theme is a performance inspired by SCA history or World History, stories that are true, or should be true!
For those who don’t use words, e.g. instrumentalists or dancers, an introduction to the story being referenced is expected. The target time for a performance is ten minutes.
The Champion will be chosen by the Populace. The competition begins at 3:00 PM.

The words of Master Alaryn Aecanstaeff, MOD, current Cut and Thrust Champion of Adiantum:

Greetings,

I Look forward to witnessing the glorious clash of arms from which will emerge One who will carry forward the honor and traditions of Adiantum.

In Service,

Please Consider the Likely Weather! A change of clothes for the hall after the tournament could be most welcome on the day.

Barony of Adiantum Rapier Championship (1:00 PM, Outside)

The format for the Rapier Championship Tourney will begin round-robin, with the top 2 through to 8 going in to a single elimination depending upon the number of people in the List.
