This is a Level 2 event.
Once again the Barony of Wyewood invites all to join us in our annual Feast of Saint Bubba.
Alarich and Aline, our esteemed Baron and Baroness have proclaimed a day of dance, fencing, Arts & Sciences, and, naturally, feasting! Significantly, Wyewood’s first Bardic Championship shall be held! The merriment shall include a dance class with a presentation during the feast. There shall be a silent auction for a new Baronial kneeling cushion. The details for fencing and the classes are still developing. And the selections for the feast shall represent the foods encountered by Bubba on his many travels. Please join us for a frolicsome day of diverse enjoyments!

Appetizer/Preset Course: England
Various Crudite and marinated vegetables
Yrchouns (Hedgehogs): Pork, chicken, ginger, salt, cinnamon, cloves, currants, almonds (or hazelnuts)
Frytour of Erbes: Chives, marjoram, assorted salad greens, parsley, thyme, oregano, rosemary, wheat flour, salt, yeast, canola oil
Chyches (Chickpeas): Chickpeas, olive oil, saffron, garlic, cloves, cardamom, cinnamon, salt, pepper
Smoked Olives: Pitted olives, garlic, thyme, walnuts, sesame oil, applewood smoked

Frankish Style Roast Lamb: Sesame oil, rose water, salt.
Isfanakh Mutajjan – Fried Spinach: Spinach, cold pressed sesame oil garlic, salt, cumin, coriander seeds, cinnamon.
Carrots and Leeks with Tahini Sauce: Carrots, leeks, Tahini, wine vinegar, honey, seasonings TBD.
Puree of Eggplant with Yogurt. Eggplant, onion, sesame oil and olive oil, garlic, yogurt of goat milk or kefir, parsley.

The first Wyewood Baronial Bardic Championship!
Together with his Excellency Alarich, I am pleased to invite the Bards of An Tir to join us at the Feast of St. Bubba in the Barony of Wyewood on March the 21st where they may compete to become to the premiere Bardic Champion of our fair Barony!
The Bardic Champion will be asked to promote the Bardic Arts among our populace and around An Tir for the duration of their tenure, to attend Wyewood events when possible, and to represent Wyewood and An Tir with courtesy and honor as befitting a champion.
The format for the competition will be two rounds. The first round will require a pre-17th century piece with documentation (story, poem, song). The final round shall be an original piece, written by the competitor, sharing a tale of our beloved bat-winged hamster Saint Bubba! We ask that competitors declare themselves and send documentation ahead for their first round pieces to wyewood.coronet@antir.org by March 7, 2020 at 9 PM.We look forward to seeing your skill and choosing among you for our premiere Bardic Champion. May the muses be ever in your favor!

The St. Bubba’s Rapier Tournament
Beginning at about 12:30: Scribal Interactive Tables – for children and adults –

Join us for Arts & Sciences activities throughout the day!
Classes:
Largesse Swap – Contribute six largesse items (identical or a variety). At 4:00 pm, we will “swap” and each participant can take up to three of their choice from the contributions. The remaining largesse will be presented to our Coronets.
Backgammon Tournament – (11:00 am – 4:00 pm) – Open format, no elimination, play once against each opponent. Prizes will be given for most games won and most games played.
Library + Research handouts – (11:00 am – 3:00 pm) – Enjoy the Wyewood library and find handouts on research best practices, including one created by our own Baroness Aline Swynebrook.
Scribal Interactive Tables – (11:00 am – 3:00 pm) We invite children of all ages to try their hand at the scribal arts. There will be coloring pages of charters for children and the opportunity for adults to paint charters. Some supplies will be available but participants are also encouraged to bring their own.
