This is a Level 2 event.

A 2-day demo in Conjunction with the Gorge Fruit and Craft Fair, in Hood River County. 

SCA friends:
Are you sad that tourney season is winding down? Are you wishing you could sleep in your pavilion one more time before the weather turns? We have the solution!

We invite you to join the Shire of Hauksgarðr for a beautiful fall weekend in the gorge, where we are going to demo for two days! But, wait…there’s more! We can also camp & have our own time to event before & after the demo time is done. We have our spot for the whole weekend.

New this year – Thrown Weapons area!

The dates of the demo are Oct. 19th & 20th. The site is a nice grassy area with big trees and lots of shade at the fairgrounds. The demo is held in conjunction with the Gorge Fruit & Craft fair. We have lots of room for fighting and displays, and room for camping. We hope to have classes and ‘hands on” activities, as well as static displays.

We have room for all types of A&S and a stage for the Bards and dancers. We can do lampworking, blacksmithing, etc., too. Please contact me if you can help in any way. We need people to come out and set up displays of A&S, fight, or just show up & add to the ambience of the area.

Camping:
Period, and Period-ish tents & dayshades are welcome in the demo area. 🙂 If you want to camp in a modern tent or an RV, there is room for that, but you will be a short ways away in the regular camping area of the fairgrounds. Camp sites are $15 for tents and $20 for RV’s per night. We can set up beginning at 5pm on Friday. All set up must be done before 10am on Saturday when the fair opens.

October is typically a beautiful time of year in the gorge …now you have a good excuse to come out and enjoy it! 🙂
