A&S
Championship:
Adiantum’s Arts &
Sciences championship competition is open to all who are willing to
be active and involved in the arts and sciences in the Barony
throughout their year as champion. In 2017, there are five
requirements for those who wish to enter: Candidates must be active
members. Candidates will submit one entry for judging: an item,
project, or research paper, complete with documentation and
display. Entrants are also required to teach a class at the event,
and to bring one item to display which they consider to be either a
“learning experience” or a failure. These two requirements will not
be judged, but they are necessary for those who wish to be
champion.
Teaching is one of the
most important things we can do to support the arts and sciences,
and sharing our failures can be just as inspirational to others as
sharing our triumphs. Candidates must declare their intent to enter
the competition and arrange for class time with Yseult by no later
than December 21st, 2016.
If you have questions,
if you would like feedback on your project or class, or if you feel
like it would be helpful to have someone mentor you through the
process of entering, please contact our current champion, Rafny
Garansdottir.
