Oh dearest and trusted friends of the (North/South)!
Your brethren in Thornwold are in need!
Our humble and bountiful borders are being beset and we beg your assistance in defending us from the vicious forces of (Central An Tir/Tir Righ)!
What’s even worse, our forests are being haunted by wild and mysterious beast! Will you, good gentle, and your noble friends be brave enough to free us of these terrors?
We open our hospitality to you – we hope to contain the skirmish to the fields of the Lavendar House in Ferndale, WA. Please come on the edge of winter, October 5th, for this one-day decider of our fates.
We anxiously await your aid!!

Welcome to the Shire of Thornwold’s newest event Winter is Coming War!

As Eddies heralds in the outdoor season so does Winter is Coming War close it, join us for a one day war before the season of feasting and royal balls begin!

Site open at 9am for Setup and Armor drop! Bring your day shades and covers, because rain or shine, we’re fighting!

Details!

The War:
As the border between Tir Righ and Central An Tir, it is well known that our lands and their bounty are coveted by Kingdom and Principality alike! Our first war scenario will be divided along those lines, after which we will even up the sides for more fun!
Other Scenarios will be posted very soon!

Note: As of 10/3 we do not have a senior combat archery marshal, and as such will not have combat archery at WiC War. We are sorry to announce this, and will let you know if that changes. 

The Food:
Warm day food will be provided! No need to cook or pack food. We will keep you warm and full the day of the war! This is by donation and helps refill our shires coffers!

A&S:
We will have small classes of handicrafts to do as you watch the war! 
We will have the following craft options Lady  Sigga is coming and will be bringing wire/bead supplies for jewelry making for those who would like to make rings, earrings and clasps. Perhaps you’d like to make a gift for your favorite fighter?

Alieanor and mom are bringing needlework/hand embroidery stuffs

We may have a wool craft as well!

Seating and watching the fighters:
We will have a walled tent looking out over the war field, warmed with fire pits. Please bring a chair, and enjoy the company of the shire!

Meal Information

We suggest a $5.00 Donation. 
All money will support the Shire of Thornwold.

Warm Meals: 
You will have an option of Vegan Chili or Leek Soup. 
Soup toppings: Italian Sausage, Onion, Cheese can be added separately (Included in charge)
Bread 
Pickle

We will also have various finger food available such as hard boiled eggs, cookies, cheese, meat, and other goodies.

Hot Beverages will be available too.

We encourage you to bring your own feast gear for this! 

Tournament Information

The Shire of Thornwold is pleased to announce the Warden of the North Funraiser! 

Prizes:
What’s a war without prizes? Whats an even without fundraising?
Besides bragging rights, the side that wins the day will be gifted with engraved favors to proclaim to the known world that you defended Winterf–I mean Thornwold!
In addition we will have a funraiser for three additional amazing prizes!

Grand Prize: Warden of the North! You get the right and honor to call yourself the Warden of Thornwold, and wear the Wardens Cloak! This handmade cloak has the great Sable Bunny on it, and you will be the envy of all! (I mean, I think you will?). CLOAK IS FOR KEEPS! That’s right, you could win a handmade cloak for just supporting our fundraiser!

This is the finished Warden of the North Cloak! 

Grand Prize #2: Original Scroll by the Thornwold Scriptorium! This magnificent prize will be made to your specifications. Perhaps you have an award you never received a scroll for, or know someone who would like one? Or perhaps there is a poem or block of text you would like to have illuminated? Our Scribes are here to make this a reality for you!

Grand Prize #3: A beautiful fall themed woolen blanket handmade and finished by Land Francesca!
