This is a Level 2: Branch Event where no Kingdom or Principality business is expected to be conducted event.

Something to look forward to and add to your calendars!

Aquaterra heard you and has created a whole new demo event specifically for Ursulwyck Village and Marketplace, now known as the Ursulwyck Medieval Faire! This will be a one-day public demo event held February 28th, 2026 at the Skagit County Fairgrounds, 510 Taylor St., Bldg. D, Mt. Vernon, WA 98284. Since the tournaments we’re used to from Ursulmas will remain at the usual weekend and place, at an SCA only event now called Ursulmas Tournament, we will be having our baronial heavy, rapier, and YAC championships at Ursulwyck Medieval Faire as part of the demonstration, along with other entertainment, so it should be a great show for everyone!

The new space is exactly the quality we need, with heat, power available in much of the space, and functioning restrooms immediately next door. This is a smaller space than we’re used to, though, so we will be working hard to fit in as much as possible. The merchant application will be available soon, too, and priority will be given to those that best fit within our SCA demo vision since space is at a premium and we’re *really* trying to make this demo an engaging and educational experience for our modern guests.

Though this is a one-day event, we have the option to set up the day before and tear down the day after (schedule TBD), though there’s no overnight stay on site. These fairgrounds are in town, though, so there are plenty of hotels, restaurants, and other amenities nearby if needed!

Please let us know if you’re able to join us and share your skills with folk who we hope to bring into this game with us!

Tournament Information

Rapier Championship

This Championship will be a Rapier & Dagger Round Robin including non-vying entrants. Wins within the Round Robin will dictate semi-finals placement.

Heavy Championship

The Aquaterra Heavy Champions tournament will be held with the following parameters:
1. Each fighter will be inside of separate touching eight-foot by five-foot rectangles marked on the ground.
2. Stepping out of your space or falling results in a loss.
3. There will be a mild trip hazard spanning diagonally across the combat ground.
4. No shields will be permitted. No weapons over four feet will be permitted
5. Unless there are too many fighters in attendance, the tournament will be “Round Robin’ style with the 2 fighters with the most wins fighting in the finals. Should this not be feasible with the time permitted, we will adjust to an elimination tourney.
Adjustments will be made if needed with the MIC input

Youth and Family Activities

Youth Amoured CHAMPION of Aquaterra!

Come all ye brave and noble dragons to AQUATERRA CHAMPIONS. Declare your intent before the Baron and Baroness and be prepared to prove yourself in single combat. All dragons are welcome to compete regardless of which land you call home.

To our honorable youth not yet competing for champions, do not be dismayed, you too can fight this day. There will be an all-divisions tournament held at the same time. A reward will be granted to the winner of each division.

Tournamanent type: non dominant hand. Our current champion has decided that this years tournament will be a tricky one. Each fighter must fight with their primary weapon in their none dominant hand. Regular weapon types are allowed you simply have to fight opposite what you normally would, ie. Sword and sheild swap hands, pole arms swap which hand is forward, 2 swords swap your right hand stick for your left hand one. The tournament will be double elimination format with the final fight being a best 2 out of 3.

Tournament requirements: All participants must have a valid YAC authorization card and a legally supervising adult.

Champion requirements:
