Silk Banner Painting “Getting Your Heraldry On”
3hrs
Have you ever wanted to have one of those fluttery banners, bravely flying over your encampment? But
painting silk seems so very scary. Well in my quest to have people “Get their Heraldry On” I am offering a
simple introduction to painting silk. We will also cover period banners.
Students should bring a simple design to paint approx 8”x8”. (Not too detailed). If you have a device then
perhaps bring one element of it to use. We will be painting a 10”x10” silk square. (I will be supplying the
silk square, dyes and resists for you to use) If you have water colour brushes (or fine pointed brushes)
then please bring them.

Largesse is the work of artisans’ hands, gifted to the Crown to then be gifted to the populace. The Royals
rely on artisans to create and donate these items so They have gifts to give. But it doesn’t make itself. In
this class, you will learn the skills and techniques to make small pincushions out of felt and pop bottle
caps. No experience is necessary and all materials are supplied, but feel free to bring any bits of lace or
trim remnants that are cluttering up your sewing basket.
Should students bring anything? (Scissors, needles, sword, notebook & pen) Notebook and pen might be
helpful but not required.
Needle will be provided, but please bring scissors if you have them; any bits of narrow trim or lace that is
at least three inches long that you’d like to incorporate into the project.

Jr Rapier Marshal
This class is aimed at people wanting to become Jr Marshals, and will cover both Rapier and Cut & Thrust. Time allowing it will also cover the new changes in society rules with the caveat that we don’t know how those changes will be implemented at Kingdom level. It is recommended that students read the ABCs before class, though not required. No cost
