In the north of An Tir, where the evening summer skies are framed by the ancient forests, Tir Righ celebrates! We invite you to join The Storm Thrones as They invest Their Heirs at a celebration reaching the stars and borders of Their lands.

On the traditional lands of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw, on the coast of the Barony of Lions Gate, in the heart of Roberts Creek, we open our shores and gates to travellers, friends and family. The weekend will be filled with activities for all, regardless of their experience or areas of interest.

Camp Byng is a Scouts Canada facility, and therefore is a DRY site. No alcohol is permitted anywhere on site.

Dogs are permitted on-leash.

Accommodations on site are limited to camping and cabins. No RVs or trailers.

Registration Information

How to cross the moat to the most beautiful part of Tir Righ (aka Ferry Reservations):

-ferry reservations are strongly recommended for those travelling by car. It’s never too early to book!
-although you only pay for one direction on the ferry between Horseshoe Bay and Langdale, you can make a reservation both ways. If you are lucky, you can get a $0 reservation for the way home, but you have to proceed with the farce of “paying” even if it is for zero dollars.
-please note that reservations are constantly coming available on the BC Ferries website as booked passengers change their plans. Keep checking back
-for those travelling by foot, we can set up some shuttles with advance notice
-the site is approx 15 minutes from the ferry

Accessibility Information

This site is very rustic and requires some walking on well maintained dirt roads. We will have a limited number of parking spaces near the activity field. Lodging Information

August Investiture 2025 Cabin Information – Yes! There are a limited number of bunks available at August Investiture. PRE-BOOKING ONLY

Bunks are reserved in advance and are $5.00 for the 2 nights. There are 5 max (6 with a child) bunks in each cabin and there are 10 cabins in total.
Please note that the cabins are part of the Scout camp and are therefore rustic. You will need your bedding, regular scout mattresses are provided. There is no electrical power. There is potable water, flushable toilets, and showers in the cabin circle.

Cabins are located an approximate 2 minute walk for a Pelican on a mission, or 5-7 minutes at a more leisurely pace, from the erics. You will be crossing a main road, with limited traffic.

As there is limited space, we cannot rent an entire cabin out to one person only. Bunks are first come first served. If you and 5 friends want to ensure you are in the same cabin, please reserve with all five names at the same time.
ALL reservations are to go through Maminka. If you have not gone through this channel, you have not reserved a bunk. Email ensures that we can track your request. You can reach me at: Maminka.sca@gmail.com

Tournament Information

Heavy Tournament – Format: Hear the words of our Heavy Champion, Viscount Saif

It is time for champions to be determined! Here is the format for the Tir Righ Armoured Champion. This is a time of heroes and champions to be born.
We will process in. You will let us know about your inspiration. That thing, ideal, or person or people that will help you stay true to your oath as Champion of Tir Righ. They do not have to be present.
Time permitting every entrant will have to fight the current champion ( ME) in a speed round before fighting your challenges, because I love fighting so much.

The first round will be a challenge round and will be fought single sword on NON dominant hand in honour of our King and incoming Prince. At this point it will be fought as a Speed tourney with winners going to the right and non victors going to the left. With two losses you will be out of the tournament. If the numbers are too small for this to be enjoyable for all we may switch to a round robin format, but we are limited in time. The finals will be fought as follows, It is a best 2 in a row ( potentially More as you shall see). First round will be sword and shield. The winner of that first round will move to buckler and sword. If loser of the first round wins they will also move to a buckler. The first with 2 wins in a row wins.

Greetings, good Gentles. Here are the TUTR classes.

Track 1 Embellishments:
Morning Black Work book mark taught by HL Elspeth Selwode;
Afternoon Tashrimi Palestinian applique taught by me, Marie bint Yussuf
Track 2 Dance:
Not the Usual SCA Dances taught by L. Einarr Karlsson and Begum Shihar Mulji.
Each class is 2 hours long. Costs and full descriptions to follow.

Arts and Science – Largesse Competition

Greetings Artisans and skilled Craft folk of Tir Righ, At August Investiture there will be a Largesse competition.

Four similar items inspired by Tir Righ’s heraldry! You have Azure, a compass star voided argent as your starting point.

How will you be inspired? Handkerchiefs embroidered with the star? An eight-pointed star shaped box in blue? An item loving crafted by you stored in a box with Tir Righ’s heraldry? A hand-crafted ink bottled and contained in a bag stamped with Tir Righ heraldry? The options are endless!

The entries will be donated (thank you!) for Tir Righ to share within and without this fair Principality. Ensure your Four items are labeled with your name, branch, and any details you wish to add (eg dyed with acorns, made from maple).

There will be a prize!

All largesse competition items will be automatically entered into the Amazing Multi-Event Largesse Competition being hosted by the Coronets!

The TIR RIGH TRIPLE LARGESSE TOURNAMENT is being held at AUGUST INVESTITURE 2025!
Overview:
SINGLE EVENT FORMAT:
Each entrant is asked to contribute THREE nearly identical handmade items. One of the two items will be kept by the CORONET for gifting to fellow royals or to be used as prizes for other kingdom level contests, the winner of the contest will receive one set of the three items as a prize. Every entrant will receive the following:
A gift selected by Their Highnesses
AND…
A special token from Her Highness
AND…
Automatic entry into the OVERALL Tir Righ Triple Largess Tournament!

This means everyone who enters will go home with something fabulous! Each TRIO will be put on display and voted on by the populace during the day.

The Single TIR RIGH TRIPLE LARGESSE TOURNAMENT Event winner will ALSO receive an additional point in the overall Tournament.

All entrants receive 1 point
Winners receive 1 entry point + 1 winner point for a total of 2 points.

OVERALL TOURNAMENT FORMAT:
At each Single TIR RIGH TRIPLE LARGESSE TOURNAMENT Event, participants will automatically receive entry into the overall reign long tournament. At FEBRUARY INVESTITURE 2026, The overall tournament winner will be announced and will receive a very special TIR RIGH TRIPLE LARGESSE TOURNAMENT prize. Scoring will be calculated via a combination of single event entry points and single entry event winner points)
Important information for ENTRANTS:
Entries must include 3 CARDS (if hand written, please make sure they are legible) with the following information:
•Entrant SCA name
•Home branch
•Point of contact (email or fb name)
•A brief description of the item(s) being entered.
•Entrants don’t have to be physically present at the event but do need a representative to display their items

*If your items have loose pieces please include a way to carry each set (plastic bag, cardboard box, etc, nothing fancy required just practical containment)*

We hope accidents never happen. But in the event they do, the nearest hospital is located in Sechelt B.C., an approximate 15-20 minutes from site. There is an ambulance station in Gibsons B.C., approximately 7 minutes from site.
