Heavy
Championship :

It’s going
to be a six round multi weapons tourney. Each round will be a
single, weapon style…Single,Sword, Sword and Shield, Mass Weapon
and Shield, Great Weapon, Pole Weapon and Two
Weapons.

We’ll
fight it using what is known as Hocktide Rules. Fights will end
with traditional sca death or if two strikes land on a limb. For
each limb strike, the fight will pause and reset, acknowledging the
blow.

Points
will be awarded as follows…1 point for entering, 1 point for a
reasonably period kit as judged by TEs, 1 point for a Heraldic
Surcoat or Painted Shield, 1 point for a voice herald or heraldic
banner and 6 points from fighting.

Archery
Championship:

A Royal
Round, whatever the SSAC shoot for the month of August is going to
be, an Apples and Oranges Shoot (this is something I made up and am
still working on finalizing. Basically a target with apples and
oranges, points for hitting apples and negative points for hitting
oranges, with a few fun things thrown in.)  Finals would be a
wand shoot. Starting at a distance to be determined, finalists will
get to shoot 5 arrows. After retrieving we will move up a few steps
and repeat.  First to hit their wand 4 times will be the
winner and new champion.

Equestrian:

There will
be mounted gaming and a “Noblesse Oblige” challenge course
competition, as well has mounted archery, foam jousting, and
mounted archery (assuming we have riders authorized for these
activities present.)

This is
always a fun event and this year should be no exception.

Over night
boarding is available, but limited, so I will need to know in
advance who intends to bring horses with the intent of having them
stay over night on site.

Contact me
via private message here on Facebook or via email
troy@troygriffith.com to let me know you are bringing horses or if
you have any questions.

Long and
Short Rapier Activities for 2017

This years
Rapier activities will start with the settling of a challenge
between Msr. Christian and Lord Samwell Langdon to determine who
has a better grasp of command in Melee tactics.  This will be
a 6 on 6 melee with the details worked out by the two team
captains.

After the
initial melee we will then just use the time we have left for
additional melee scenarios as participants desire for a fun
afternoon of melee activities.

Any garter
challenges that happen will be held at this time.
