When last we saw Beauregaard, the Fabulous Golden Fleece of Ramsgaard, his newly-minted Guaardian was escorting him from London, much to the relief of a certain playwright. Since then he has turned up in the tournament circuit, having found himself a place as the noble (?) steed to a young knight… Who claims to be Dutch but sounds awfully English… Beauregaard is somewhat confused, but as long as there is fun and adventure, Beau is in.What other adventures has he had? Where did he get that armour? Why does his Guaardian appear so tired all the time? And who is the mysterious Mme Chérie Dujour?
Ramsgaard presents the next chapter in Beauregaard’s story: “A Ram’s Tale!”
There will be themes of courtly love, of changing one’s destiny, of the generosity of friends, of unrestrained, outrageously extravagant heralds… Opportunities to compete abound! We ask all who would vie for the position of Beauregaard’s protector to come to the Shire of Ramsgaard on the weekend of March 14-16 to compete in the multiple challenges required to become Ram’s Guaardian!
Once again we are in the North Thompson Fall Fair Hall, on the south side of the Agriplex grounds, east of Dunn Lake Road.
This is the smaller hall on the fairground site, the one that is NOT attached to the arena. So we cannot offer arena camping like we do at Freeze-Off. Scroll down to the Lodging Information section, following the Site Fees section below, for more options. The address is:
THERE WILL BE A DESIGNATED SMOKING AREA AND IT WILL BE RIGOROUSLY ENFORCED

Please remember to bring the complete ingredient list to put with the dish for our friends with allergies, sensitivities or other food requirements.
Enter one, two… ALL the competitions if you dare! The individual with the highest aggregate total at the end of the day earns the coveted title of Ram’s Guaardian.

Bring your best movie Chaucer or Galavant-inspired oratory and knock our socks off!
Vlad made us do it. We also asked, “What on earth is this?”
Ah. Um…?
Oh, drawing and colouring! Why didn’t you just say so?!
Due to popular demand [that it be stopped] the annual Quiz Game will [of course] continue!
Gate, marshals, chatelaines, set-up, tear-down… We always need volunteers.

Class description:
Ukrainian cloth dolls called Motanka have been around for over 5000 years. They are made of cloth that is wound or knotted and traditionally made without using a needle or scissors. Although they can be used as a child’s toy, they are often created as talismans for protection or wishes. As Ukrainians believed that creating a face could tie a person’s soul to the doll, they do not have facial features and instead have pagan symbols such as a cross, which is a symbol of the sun, once worshipped by the ancients.
The word “motaky” means to wind, and these traditonal dolls were made without seams and fastened by winding threads around the parts, and secured with a knot.
Come learn how to make these ancient dolls and take one home with you.
