Hosted by the Barony of Madrone and the Madrone Culinary Guild, the Peasant’s Revel is one of the Barony of Madrone’s most beloved events, with silly games & contests & a wonderful peasant meal (Team Soup!) in the afternoon.
Join the ancient rivalry between the Villages of Sodbury and Bourton on Water! Dress like a peasant. (Nobles, you may want to send your illegitimate second cousin twice removed who looks remarkably like you.)

Please remember to bring a bowl, a spoon, a plate, and your cup and napkin. The Madrone Culinary Guild will provide munificent alms to the assembled peasants in the form of breads, fruits, and pickles to snack on throughout the afternoon, followed by a meal in the late afternoon. The Guild has a few loaner bowls and spoons if needed. The Guild will have available water and “lemonade” to drink. Any drink you bring MUST be non-alcoholic as this is a Bellevue city park.
There will be no court and no meetings. This is a great event for newcomers. Bring your children. Play and watch silly games.
Bring chairs or a picnic blanket, your lunch and the non alcoholic beverages you prefer. Wear comfortable peasant garb or OK-to-get-grass-stains garb. A small amount of randomly sized peasanty Garb to borrow will be available if you don’t yet have your first SCA costume.
There is shade available under the trees, or you can bring a pop-up sunshade. (Bring weights, you cannot drive stakes in the lawn.) Also bring hand sanitizer or hand wipes for your comfort.
Event activities are primarily on grass in a mostly flat space.
Ample parking is available in a parking lot within a block of the park. Parking spaces immediately adjacent to the park should be for people who need close parking for access. If you need close parking, please contact either the event steward or Rowenna de Manning in advance, and we will make every effort to save a close parking space.

This event includes the following activities and/or services:
Allows pets (check for details)
Offers a feast or meal

Accessibility Information

This is a mostly flat grassy park. There are paved walkways, but that is not where we will be holding our activities. There is very limited handicapped parking. Restrooms are accessible.

Meal Information

A cold peasant supper with soup will be available. Donations are welcome to cover food expenses.

Remember to bring a bowl, a spoon, a plate, and your cup and napkin. The Madrone Culinary Guild makes a picnic dinner of Peasant Soup, along with potential sides such as salad, bread, cheese, pickles, and fruit, depending on the whims of “Team Soup”. The Guild has loaner bowls and spoons if needed. The Guild will have available water and lemonade to drink. Any drink you bring MUST be non-alcoholic as this is a Bellevue city park.
