Greetings, students of Ithra!

The Medieval Village is a place where people practice their skills, trades and crafts. This Ithra is intended to teach many of the skills that tradesmen knew in the Middle Ages.

This is being held at a private residence of an SCA member and we ask that you respect the privacy of the property owner by not entering her residence without the express permission of the property owner. The septic system is not equipped to handle a high amount of waste–rented privvies are available for your use, as at any outdoor SCA event. Camping will not be permitted (nor is it recommended this late in the year), but we can recommend fine local hotels or arrange crash space for you.

There is no need to sign up for a full slate of classes; students may take as many or as few classes as they would like. University sessions are open to all who are interested. Membership in the Society for Creative Anachronism is not required. The University offers two degree programs-Lector Scientae (Reader in Sciences) and Lector Artis (Reader in Arts). If this is the first time you have attended an Ithra session, you will need to pay a one-time-only matriculation fee of $2.00. This fee provides you with a copy of the Ithra Compendium (a guide to the University and its class structure), and pays for the maintenance of your student records for any Ithra classes you may take in the future.

All fees must be paid in advance and sent in with your registration form; we cannot hold a space in a class you have not paid for. Send check or money order; please do not send cash.

THERE WILL BE NO ON-SITE REGISTRATION! Registration forms and payment MUST HAVE A POSTMARK NO LATER THAN WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 13, 2004. Check or money order should be made out to “SCA, Inc. – University of Ithra,” and mailed to the Registrar.

You are not considered registered for an Ithra until your fees have been received by the Registrar. Please do not send a SASE for confirmation. If you provide an email address with your registration, you will automatically receive a registration confirmation.

Should you register for, but be unable to attend a session or class, please notify the Registrar or Chancellor as soon as possible; another student might wish to fill your place. If you cannot attend, but still wish to receive your class materials, please contact the Registrar or Chancellor BEFORE the event; the Ithra staff do not automatically collect and mail these materials. YOU MUST CANCEL AT LEAST 72 HOURS IN ADVANCE IN ORDER TO RECEIVE A REFUND.

Only staff members, registered students, and instructors will be permitted on campus. While attending this session, you must uphold the laws of the Federal Government, the laws of the State of Washington, the rules and regulations of the University of Ithra and the laws of the Kingdom of AnTir, or be subject to removal from the session, in which case fees are not refundable. Any children attending the session must either be registered for and be old enough to participate in classes and be attended by their parent or legal guardian at all times. If you wish to bring a child please notify the chancellor, she will put you in touch with the relevant instructors to see if the class is child-friendly. We cannot and do not provide child care. Nursing babes-in-arms are welcome as long as they do not disrupt classes.

Your classes will not actually be reserved until payment is received!

Site opens at 8 a.m. for check-in. We recommend that you come at least an hour before your first class to settle up any financial business as well as receive your class assignment.

Note: Acid Etching and Tourney Box Construction are now *full*.

On Saturday evening, the Wild Goose Inn will be having its premier opening on site (BYOB), with its rustic appeal and plenty of ambiance! A $5 feast will fill your belly and put a skip in your step…especially handy for the DANCING that evening!

Further, the University of Ithra is interested in borrowing period pavilions for the Ithra! Do you have a medium-to-large tent that we can use for classes? Something that will seat 8-10 and hold a table and chair for an instructor? The University of Ithra is willing to *waive* your registration fee in exchange for the use of your tent! (Class fees will still apply.) If you have a tent for us to borrow, please contact me at hdenavarre@comcast.net ASAP!!

Registration will continue until Wed., Oct. 13th. Visit the web site at www.ithra.antir.sca.org for more information!
