Steel will ring and honor will shine in Terra Pomaria’s Defender Tournament! Fighters from across the land are invited to test their mettle in a contest of skill, strength, and chivalry. Come compete for the title of Heavy Champion and stand as a shield for the Barony. Whether you seek glory or support your comrades, this is a field where courage earns renown.
Bouts will be fought best two out of three—but to claim your second win, you must use your off-hand. The exact format will be determined on the day of the tournament based on the number of participants.
Join us for the Prize Tournament featuring the classic Long and Short format! Fighters will face off in alternating rounds—testing their prowess with mighty great weapons one bout, and nimble daggers the next. This is a test of versatility, strategy, and grit. Step into the lists, adapt to the challenge, and claim glory in both the long and the short of it!
Single or double elimination, depending on the number of entrants with Finals: Best 3 of 5, continuing the alternating weapon format
Test your skill. Prove your prowess. Glory awaits.
Sharpen your aim and steady your hand—the Terra Pomaria Archery Championship awaits! This challenge will test both skill and focus across a series of shots designed to crown our next Champion of the Bow. Whether you’re a seasoned archer or rising through the ranks, step up to the line and show your prowess. Bring your best—glory and honor are in your sights!
Royal Rounds – Royal Rounds available during open archery, outside of championship activities.
Axes, knives, and spears—oh my! Step into the ring and test your precision in the Thrown Weapons Championship of Terra Pomaria. Competitors will face a series of challenges designed to showcase accuracy, control, and consistency. Steel your nerves, take aim, and let fly!
This year, Long & Short is honored to host the Captain of Eagles, the Principality of the Summits’ Archery Championship! Archers from across the Summits are invited to test their skill, focus, and form in this prestigious competition. Come take your shot at glory and compete for the title of Captain of Eagles!
We are thrilled to announce that the Barony of Glyn Dwfn will host its Baronial Equestrian Championship at this year’s Long & Short. This exciting tournament will determine the Equestrian Champion of Glyn Dwfn, and all riders—whether vying for the title or simply riding for the love of the sport—are welcome to compete.
In consultation with Their Excellencies of Glyn Dwfn, the championship will feature four distinct contests, with points awarded as follows:
1st place – 10 points, 2nd – 9 points, down to 1 point for 10th place.
The challenges are:
Presentation:
Present yourself and your noble steed in your finest regalia. Their Excellencies will ask why you seek to serve as Champion. Judging will be based on garb and your responses.
Presentation Under Saddle:
You’ll have two minutes to showcase your horsemanship and your mount before the judges. Put your best hoof forward!
Challenge Course:
A timed obstacle course featuring elements such as the quintain, heads, reeds, rings, gates, bridges, and more. All elements must be attempted; missed targets will incur time penalties. The fastest clean run wins!
Mounted Combat Sans Weapons Tournament:
Compete in a display of skill and tactical riding—no weapons, no armor. Riders will attempt to gain advantage over their opponent in one-minute bouts. A tournament format (round-robin, double, or single elimination) will be chosen based on time and turnout. A brief safety and orientation meeting will precede the tournament.
Want to ride for the title?
To be considered for Champion, please declare your intent the day of the event. Otherwise, feel free to participate simply for the joy of riding and competition.
Stall Reservations:
Twelve stalls are available for overnight boarding. To reserve a stall, please contact William Augustine via Facebook or email at william@foxsrest.com.
Grace, speed, and precision take center stage in the Rapier Tournament at Long & Short! Duelists will cross blades in a contest of skill and style, where cunning footwork and sharp wit matter as much as steel. Whether you’re vying for victory or reveling in the dance of the blade, come join us for a tournament that celebrates the art of defense and the spirit of chivalry.
Round robin or double elimination based on fighter count.
The Cut & Thrust Tournament invites bold fighters to test their skill. Precision, control, and honor will decide the day as combatants face off in this dynamic and demanding contest. Sharpen your blade and your resolve—glory awaits those who dare!
The tournament will consist of three twenty-minute bear pit rounds.
The first round will be fought with longsword, the second with single sword (one-handed), the third with fighters’ choice.
The winner of each fight will stay to fight the next person in line.
Any fighter with three (or five, depending on attendance) consecutive wins steps off the field to allow two new fighters rather than one.
Double kills will not be refought.
The tournament winner will be the fighter with the highest win total across all three rounds, though a fighter does not need to compete in all three rounds to be eligible to win.
In the event of a tie, any tie breaking fights will be fought with single sword.
Two fighters tied: Single fight.
Three fighters tied: Round Robin
More than three: We’ll figure something out.
