This is a Level 1: Kingdom Event (ATWW, Kingdom Championship events, Crown Councils) event.

Come join the Kingdom of An Tir’s Artisans and Rapier Combatants as they vie to be the best in the land! The 2025 Kingdom Arts and Sciences Championship and Queen’s Rapier Championship is happening March 8th and 9th in Ocean Shores, Washington at the city’s Convention Center. Come marvel at the works of the artisans and thrill to the chivalric feats of swordplay as our Kingdom chooses new champions!

Site will be open from 8AM to 8PM on Saturday and 8AM to 3PM on Sunday.

SATURDAY

8AM- Gate Opens to Populace

8AM- QRC Lists Open

9AM- Entrants and Judges Meeting

9:50 AM- Entrants Invocation with the Crown

10AM- First KAS Judging Period

10AM- QRC List Closes- ABSOLUTELY NO EXCEPTIONS

10:30AM- QRC Fighters and Consorts Processional Starts

11:00 AM- Second KAS Judging Period

11:30 AM- QRC Tournament Begins

Noon-1PM KAS Lunch Break

Noon-1PM Cookie Contest in the Populace Area near the Queen’s Rapier Tournament

1PM- Third KAS Judging Period

2PM- KAS Judging Period

3PM- KAS Judging Period

4PM- KAS Judging closed, tabulation happening, single entries are being taken down.

4:30- Tournament hopefully over, breakdown of Erics, reset of Pacific C for court (if not earlier)

5:15PM Court

7:30PM Court wrapped up, assistants available to help progressing entries move to PAC A, other championship entries pack up for load out. 

8:00 PM Site closes for the night.

 

SUNDAY

8:00 AM- Staff onsite

9:00 AM- Gate re-opens, assistants available to move champion entries into PAC C for presentations.

10AM- Finals Presentations

11AM- Deliberation Time

11:30 AM (or Crown Discretion) Closing Court

Post Court- Site take down

3PM, SITE CLOSED

Registration Information

Pre-Registration is not offered for the event due to the condensed timeline. We will be accepting Cash, Check, and Paypal at the Gate.

No dogs or other animals are allowed on site except ADA service animals.

If you are bringing an ADA Service animal with you, we ask they are are labeled if possible (vest, labeled collar, labeled leash or lead). Anyone with an unlabeled animal should be prepared for event staff or site staff to ask the two legally allowable questions of service animals (Do they provide support for a disability, and what work or task are they trained to do?).

Note, if a service animal poses a danger to other attendees through unchecked aggressive behavior, the animal and it’s handler may still be asked to leave site.

There is no specific room block for the event as all activities will take place at the Convention Center.

Tournament Information

Registration for Kingdom Arts and Sciences Championship and Display has closed.

Registration for Queen’s Rapier Championship is open. Please access the form here to register. Deadline to register for Queen’s Rapier Championship is March 4th at Midnight.

Queen’s Rapier Tournament Information:

Requirements:
–must be a carded fighter in the Kingdom of An Tir
–must be of legal age (no minor fighters allowed)
–must be a paid member of the Society. Membership card MUST be presented at lists
–Their Majesties request that if possible your inspiration be with you in the processional. (see below) If they for what ever reason cannot attend, please contact them at [crown@antir.org](mailto:crown@antir.org)
Format:
–initial challenge round after processional
–then round robin pools
–top 16 fighters will be taken for single elimination
–Finals will be best 2 of 3 fights.
Weapons restrictions: no case of rapiers, no long/two handed swords. No spears, no RBG’s.
Reduced Torso Armor Experiment is allowed: enrollment cards are REQUIRED at armor inspection, no exceptions.
Miscellany information: please read.
–Pre-registration is heavily encouraged. It allows lists to pre sort people, saving time. Day of the event, please still check in quickly at lists, so we know you are there and fighting.
–Flowers for the Queen should you choose: these are her words “I love tulips, roses, daffodils, gerber daisies. The only one I don’t really like, is carnations.”
–Processional will happen, watch the Kingdom website for specific times. Not processing in, means no participation in the tournament. Plan your travel accordingly.

-Marshals, Lists, and Heralds, followed by fighters.
-fighters will process in Descending order from the OP: determined by the Higher number in the couple. (For example: fighter has op of 156, their inspiration is Op 120. they will use the 120 for their place in line)
-fighters should be prepared to ask the Queen for her permission to enter the tournament. I encourage local practices to help new fighters practice this part.
–Armor drop room will be available for fighters. We are asking that all extra gear and cases be kept in said room.

Volunteer Information

Volunteers are welcome! We will need volunteers for the following areas:
– Gate, event assistance, set up and take down. Please reach out to the event steward at alineswynbroke@gmail.com to volunteer for these areas.

– Kingdom Arts and Sciences will need time keepers for presentations, runners for score sheets, and help in the tabulation room. To volunteer in these areas, please email the Mistress Þóra in fróða, OL, Kingdom Minister of Arts and Sciences at artsnsci@antir.org

– Queen’s Rapier Championship will need help with Eric set up and take down, heraldry, list, marshalling, and other duties. To volunteer in these areas, please email HL Katryne MacKim at marshal.rapier@antir.org

 

Merchant Information

Unfortunately, due to space constraints, we will not be able to have merchants at the event this year.

Emergency Preparedness Information

Police, Fire, and Ambulance crews are stationed approximately 2 minutes from site. Air Medevac is approximately 35 minutes from Ocean Shores.

Event staff will be monitoring weather conditions and will be in constant contact with the Kingdom Seneschal and the Crown about the safety of the event in the case of inclement weather.

Event staff will also be monitoring for Tsunami and Earthquake activity and will town cry if there is a need to.
