JANELTIS DAY TREASURE HUNT

INTENTION:
1. Beginning the week before the event, all those who wish to participate are asked to
state their intention to the Steward on the Book of Faces event page (look for the message thread titled “Treasure Hunt”) so organizers can prepare a sufficient number of clues.
2. Any time before approaching Gate (meaning days in advance or on your way to the event), adult participants must obtain a wooden stirring stick (such as one available at coffee shops), Children under 12 years
who might participate on a team are exempt from this requirement.

INSTRUCTIONS:
•At Gate, participants will present their wooden stirring stick to Gate staff and confirm their intention to participate in the Janeltis Day Treasure Hunt.
1. Gate staff will register all members of the team by SCA and modern name
2. Gate staff will provide the team with Treasure Hunt instructions and the first clue

• The Treasure Hunt ends at Court; participants must be present to win
• All items except the wooden stirring stick will be found on site grounds
• Teams of up to two adults are allowed; children under 12 are “free”
• Clues must be taken in sequential order. Some clues may be visible or easily encountered at the site so please play fairly
• Be nice to fellow participants
• Teams are responsible for collecting and storing/stowing their own clues. Please plan to bring a bag, basket, box, or other means of holding the clues.
• Please take only one clue at any given location.
• Please don’t assemble the clues until all have been acquired
• If you are stumped by a clue, feel free to ask for assistance from one of the people designated to assist.

Classes Offered

Schedule to come.
Scissors Keepers with the honorable Ulaan Ironarm
Want to travel with your scissors but fear an unintentional stabbing?! Join us! We are making (and taking) soft fabric scissor cases. These simple, useful objects are a fun way to protect your scissors, spare your fingers a poking, and learn or improve some sewing skills. Bring your imagination and make them beautiful. And also, bring your scissors. We’ll need those.
While the target is to make soft and safe covers for your travel snips and other small scissors, your large scissors are welcome too.
You are encouraged to bring: fabric (if very lightweight, be prepared to double up or add an inner layer), the usual sewing debris, and if you want to make a case with a closed top, a closure – or we can always make a cord.
I will provide all the usual sewing debris as well as a machine, some fabrics, and patterns for cases.
Magic Bag with Lady Trinity
Join Lady Trinity of Three Mountains for an enchanting magic-bag sewing class where needle, thread, and imagination work in harmony to create a pouch unlike any other. In this workshop, participants will learn construction techniques that give the bag its “magical” character. Everyone will leave with their own completed bag, ready to decorate with personal flair, runes, embroidery, or charms. Please bring some outer fabric and a liner fabric (about 1 yard each) if you have them, so your creation can be crafted from materials imbued with your own style and story.
Needle Book with Baroness Carith de Cuevas
More information to come!
