Harvest Tournament

Shire of Dragon’s Mist October 14,
2006 St. Helens, Oregon Harvest is here, a time to collect
crops and settle in for the long cold winter. Come one and
all to the Harvest Tournament and celebrate the end of our
hard summer toils and the beginning of the time of rest
winter affords us. In the Middle Ages, Great Battles were
fought on this date – in 1066, at the Battle of
Hastings, William defeated Harold II on Senlac Hill; in 1322
Robert the Bruce defeated Edward II at Byland. Valiant
fighters! Compete for your spoils of a blanket tournament
(bring a prize and win one) and a splendid prize in the
“mounted” combat tourney (silly but fun). In
addition to heavy combat, compete in archery and thrown
weapons tournaments. Arts & Sciences flourish with a
hearty sausage feast, and prize competitions in brewing,
bardic & desserts; there will be youth activities,
classes, cider pressing and an evening dance. Site offers HOT
SHOWERS, indoor rest & dressing rooms, and a huge feast
hall. Merchants WELCOME! Time: Gate opens at 10:00 a.m., site
closes at 10:00 p.m. Site Fee: $10 ($13 w/NMS); 6-12 $6 ($9
w/NMS); 6 and younger free. Make checks payable to

Street Turn LEFT, NORTH on 7th Street Tourney field is on the
corner of 7th & Plymouth, Armory is on the RIGHT. Watch
for SCA signs.
