Class List:
Kumihimo with Master John MacAndrew:
Students will learn a few basic techniques and patterns of Japanese braiding (Kumihimo). Youth students are most welcome!
1-3pm. 2-8 students. Fee: $1
Teacup Pin Cushion – A Creative Anachronism with Lady Aniko Melyes:
ADORABLE! Come learn how to make the most wee pincushion perfect for weighing down your fabric. This fun class is inspired by the creative anachronistic side of our society (it isn’t period) in that MOST of us have a pottery mug or small bowl we don’t really use. I will teach you how to make adorable pincushions using all recycled materials, that are a perfect gift to teach or make. Students can bring their own mug OR I will have some small mugs, teacups and bowls available to purchase by with a $2 donation. This is a quick and fun class and will hopefully inspire you to make some for friends for the holidays. *The small mug or bowl opening should ideally have a diameter of less than 4 inches.
11am-12pm. 2-6 students. $2.
Let’s Wassail with Lady Aniko Melyes & HE Lucy Holgrove:
In the first part we will learn about spices used in our wassail mixture, then we will learn a bit about wassail, some of the variants, substitutions and additions we can use and then toast spices and pack our own spice mixtures to take and create a crock pot full of wassail that can warm until our Frost Fair feast where we will share it. The last part is we will learn a wassail song (easy and rousing!) which, if we feel comfortable with, perhaps we can sing it during our Frost Fair meal.
2pm-3:30pm. 3-6 students. $3.
