The Emprise of the Black Lion, themed around the 1460 Treatise of Rene of Anjou, highlights pageantry in the fields of Equestrian and Martial deeds through a variety of tournaments and competitions. Saturday will include a heavy pas d’armes and a rapier tourney. The archery range is huge, and will host York and flight shoots as well as close-in target shooting. We’re hosting an informal A&S Salon Sunday morning. Join us for much revelry and merriment!
The Emprise is a camping event, with generous, first-come, first served camping space for tents, RVs, and horse trailers. There is also limited cabin space.

Registration Information
Event and equestrian preregistration is now live! Click here to preregister for the event.
Camping preregistration is unnecessary – camping space is generous and will be allotted on a first come, first served basis.
The site has very limited cabin space available; they are 8-person/4 bunkbed sleeping cabins with a single power outlet, and shared bathrooms & showers for all cabins. As of August 1, there are a couple remaining – please rent those directly from the site, Flying Horseshoe Ranch, at (509) 674-2366.
Other site amenities include two shared kitchens with indoor dining spaces, a large beautiful courtyard with bbq grills, outdoor tables, and a bonfire pit, a swimming pool, pipe paddocks and a large arena, and a beautiful event field for tourneys and gallery.

Tournament Information
Heavy Pas d’Armes:
Meet your fellow armored combatants over a barrier with your choice of weapons in a 15th century style Pas D’Arms. Bring your drama, your snark, and your best game, as the good gentles of the gallery will be cheering you on!
Rapier:
Come challenge your friends to duel! Combatants will challenge each other to duels in front of the populace, with the terms of the duels to be decided by the duelists. Come impress your friends, foes and onlookers, with your wit, skill and most importantly panache.
