Join the Barony of Seagirt with our first event of the New Year, our annual Daffodil Tournament and Feast!  We will be honoured with the presences of Baron Malyss of Lions Gate and soon-to-be Princess Tatiana Alexsievna.

We’ll have a little bit of everything!

  • Heavy and rapier tournaments
  • The ever popular Daffodil in Any Medium Contest; this year’s theme is Games & Toys.
  • Q&A sessions with various guilds such as the Embellishers, Foresters, and Moneyers.
  • Archery

Accessibility Information

There are no stairs on site and the parking lot is flat gravel.

The event is in one large hall with hard surfaces that echo noise.  Devices to dampen ambient noise, such as Loop earplugs, are recommended.  A quiet room will be available intermittently through the day as it will also be used for Q&A sessions with guilds.

First Remove
  • Pickled vegetable medley & olives
  • Rye loaves & flavoured butters (gluten and dairy free options available)
  • Ove Plene – Cheese stuffed eggs

  • Stuffed “Drepe” quail* in almond milk flavoured with onions
  • Vegetarian option: gourd stuffed with curried eggplant, millet, dates and sweet potato
  • Field salad
  • Trio of roasted root vegetables

*Drepe – Game hens in a savoury almond milk.  In this recipe, almonds are ground to create almond milk and the hen or chicken is flavoured with onions, salt, and pellydor, a very spicy root used in medieval times

  • Crustless Pumpkin Torte – contains eggs and dairy

Tournament Information

Round robin heavy tournament to select the next Defender of Seagirt with the top 4 going into semi-finals.

Round robin rapier tournament to select the next Captain of Her Excellency’s Own Grenadiers with the top 4 going into semi-finals.

  • Each fight in the semi-final will be best of three. First round weapon choice will be the lower scored fighter, then it will alternate.
  • Finals will be best of three. Weapon choices: 1st round fighter one, 2nd round other fighter, 3rd round Her Excellency.

Volunteers Needed for Gate and Feast!

With the event mainly being in one hall, you won’t have to miss out during a gate shift and the kitchen isn’t far for anyone serving feast.
