Join the Baron and Baroness of
Seagirt in celebrating the 20th Anniversary of their
Barony!

Vie for the title of Defender of
Seagirt (armoured combat) or to be the Captain of the Baroness’ Own
Grenadiers (rapier), both with rich treasure troves of handmade
prizes. Another treasure trove will be given as a door
prize!

Our gentler contests include the
traditional Daffodil in any Medium, Costume Contest (novice &
advanced), a Seagirt Rises Bardic Competition, Masks of the Sea
Competition, and Name the Seagirt Orca contest!

From 11-3pm we will be running a
slate of archery related classes and a round table discussion, and
a second slate of varied arts and sciences classes. Merchants will
be offering their wares during the day. We are looking for a day
food provider.

During the evening, we will have
a fully served feast with dishes from Seagirt’s proud history
including Hedgehogs, Chicken as Lizard & Samian Cheesecake! Stay
for dancing and merriment afterwards!

  February Investiture, and all Seagirt meetings and

Contests

Daffodil in Any
Medium:

Our traditional contest
continues… please bring your Daffodil in Any Medium to the main
foyer at the beginning of the day for display. Documentation
required, limited to 5 pages.

Seagirt Rises Costume
Contest:

Our other traditional contest.
Beginner, Novice and Advanced categories. Bonus points for
including Seagirt Rises as a theme – think ocean or Seagirt
colours, wavy shapes, underwater embroideries, pearls, shells,
mythological costume etc. Please bring documentation, 5 page
limit.

Masks From the
Sea:

During the feast, a mask
competition will be held with the theme of Masks of the Sea. Masks
will be displayed in the feast hall during the day. Between the 1st
and 2nd removes of the feast, entrants (or their designates) will
don and parade their masks in front of the head table and the
judges.

Name the Seagirt
Orca:

Now that the Barony is 20 years
of age, it�s time we named our beloved Orca. Please choose a
period style name, with documentation in the style of a heraldic
name submission. Pas de Faux is strongly encouraged! Prize for name
chosen & for best faux documentation. Please bring to the foyer in
the morning to be judged.

Seagirt Rises Bardic
Contest:

To celebrate 20 years of the
Barony there should of course, be a new song written for the
occasion! Regale us with your tale from any of Seagirt�s Baronial
history. All entrants (or designates) will perform their song
during the last remove of the feast.

 

Daffodil Archery Tournament & Fight
Practice

On the Sunday following (March
11th) we will be having the Daffodil Archery Tournament, followed
by a fight practice. These will both take place at our regular
indoor archery and fight practice site (101 – 693 Hoffman Ave, Victoria, BC). More
details on the archery tournament to follow!
