Greetings Seagirt!
There will be the traditional
Costume Contest at Daffodil.
Your item or outfit to be
entered must have been completed within the last twelve months. It
can be worn by a person at the event or displayed on a table. All
of the work must have been completed by you. Period construction
methods are preferred. Documentation is encouraged and will receive
extra points.
There will be prizes in several
categories:
Beginners -you have never entered a costuming contest before
Intermediate -you have entered a costume contest but never won
Advanced -you have won a costume contest, or held an Arts
& Science Championship
There will also be a new
experimental category this year: Armour! Steel or leather, linen or
wool; show off your best period armour made by you within the last
twelve months.
There will also be a Single Item
category for clothing, and one for armour. Don’t have a full outfit
ready? Just enter one part of it.
We look forward to seeing your
entries!

DAFFODIL IN ANY MEDIUM
CONTEST
I invite all gentles attending
the 40th Anniversary of Daffodil to enter the traditional
“Daffodil in Any Medium” contest. What will you bring?
An embroidered daffodil, a carved daffodil, an illuminated
daffodil, a daffodil poem? The choice is yours.
There will of course be a prize!
Please bring your entry to the contest table at the event as soon
as you are able (judging will be in the early afternoon), and
please keep any documentation to a maximum of 3-5 pages.
If you have any questions,
please ask here or send me a private message. I look forward to
seeing fields of daffodils…
Elinor Holgrove
HISTORICAL RECORD KEEPING
CONTEST
In keeping with this being the
40th Anniversary of Daffodil, there will be an Art & Sciences
Contest: Historical Record keeping.
Contestants would submit one of their own treasured memories of an
Event in Seagirt’s History recorded in a historical fashion:
Calligraphy, Cuniform tablet, Painting, tapestry, etc. Poems or
songs will be accepted but must also be accompanied by a written
copy, and equal consideration will be given to the performance and
the written version.
Thank you Master Tristan for
suggesting this wonderful contest!

Baron & Baroness of Seagirt
