Arts and Sciences Defender Tournament

NEW Year – NEW to You

Arts & Sciences Competition

Briaroak Birl

A&S isn’t always about over the top perfection. It’s also about trying, learning, and expanding knowledge.

It’s a NEW year; show of something NEW.

  • Did you try something NEW outside your regular repertoire?
  • Are you NEW and everything is NEW to you?
  • Would you like to share it?
  • Did you try something NEW and learned something others might prosper from?

If you said yes to any of those then bring it to Birl and enter the NEW Year – NEW to You A&S competition.

Bardic Defender Tournament

Hail ye bards near and far: the competition for Bardic Champion of Briaroak is soon afoot at Birl! As its current title holder I wish to stress the sempiternal duty of a bard to travel bearing the wordfame of their people as the cloak shall be born upon their shoulders. Experiencing a true bard can lend one the feeling that they’ve visited the lands in their tales, seen the characters in their works like neighbors, and heard the very seas crashing on shores they’ll never know.

Therefore hear now my challenge: bring me a piece that tells me where you’re from. Be it musical or storytelling, dancing or playing, interpretation is welcome! ‘Where you’re from’ could mean a song of your literal homelands or the favorite dance of the people who raised you in the game, and quite a lot more! Just tell me about where you’re from when you compete this First of February at Briaroak Birl!

One piece of any kind about ‘where you’re from’. Be ready to answer questions about the piece relevant to the theme.

Margaret inghean Domnaill ‘Maggie the Blind’ Bard of An Tir Bard of Briaroak

Armored Defender Tournament

Tournament will be a bring your best round robin. 2/3 unless there are more than 10 participants. Finals will be 3/5 with the first two rounds being any form but sword and board.
