Dirty Dozen Largess Tournament

Greetings Artisans of An Tir!

12th Night 2017 will host a Largess enhancing event popularly known
as a Dirty Dozen Donation Derby!

This is an opportunity to show off any of your new or longtime
favorite skills in a “theme and variations”
demonstration. Making 12 of a same item or skill in various
interpretations!

The “rules” for this derby are:

  • Entrants must create twelve items, suitable for Largess, and that
are based on a single theme.

  • Entries must have a common element/theme (toys, hats, needle books,
time period), and be complete within the entry (games must each
include all elements, socks are in sets of
    two!)

  • Within the common element, the variation is in the hands of the
    artisan!

  • Variations on the theme/element need not be documentable, this is
not an A&S competition! However, identification of your
thoughts in creating your set of 12 elements, may be of interest to
    the populace!

  • Entries must be tagged and ready for gifting when submitted to the
    competition.

  • Items should not include heraldry.

  • Judging will be by the Populace, voting by token at the display
    table (in the A&S space).

  • The entry with the most tokens at the Final round of the Rapier
tournament will be declared the winner. The creator of the winning
entry will have the joy of selecting one of each of the other
entries as their own; all remaining entries will be given to
    Largess.

  • Entries will be displayed in the A&S area, and can be turned in
on Friday, from 6:00 to 8:00, and Saturday from 9:00 til 11:00, at
the display table in the A&S area.

Costumers’ Guild

Bring your best costume for Royal Court–from hat to hose!
Documentation not required, but encouraged. Sign up for a
presentation time slot, beginning at 4pm in Cascade 12 meeting
room. See details on the An Tir facebook page.

Display of Scrolls

There are so many beautiful scrolls that have been created by the
scribes of this society.  Sadly, many are hidden away in
individual homes and rarely seen by others than the recipients. It
is time to bring them out into the light! We have a secured room
just for the display of these beautiful scrolls and are requesting
them of you.

Specifically, we would like to display those handed out to new
branches as they are created, scrolls from other kingdoms and those
created more than twenty years ago. If you will be able to bring
your scroll we ask that you please notify Ciar ingen
Fhiachnach

(brandy.stier (at) gmail (dot) com
)
with the dimensions of your scroll so that we may set space aside
to properly display these examples of scribal
art.

Grand Ball

Celestial Objects – Things of the Heavens

In honor of Their Royal Highnesses, whose devices both include
“stars”, please bend your imagination to create a mask and/or
costume to celebrate all things of the Heavens: sun, moon, stars,
aurora borealis, anything you can imagine up in the sky. All are
welcome to participate with or without themed mask or
costume.

  • 1st Set (- Pavan – Queens Alman (for mask/costume judging) –
Branles: Official, Pinagay, etc. – Gresley (t/b/d – Orange or Green
Gynger?) – Petit Riens – New Boe Peep – Gathering
    Peascods)

  • Announcement of costume/mask winners

  • Performance (Chiara Stella) – for those that know
    it

  • 2nd Set (- Ly Bens D – Gelosia – Amoroso – Contrapasso Nuovo
(part 1 only) – Villanella – Hit or Misse –
    Goddesses)

  • Dancing can continue after the ball, if there are dancers and
    musicians interested in continuing.

Knights Auction

Sponsored by Sir Rodrekr

In the past fifteen years, An Tir’s Knights Auction has
raised over $25,000 for various charities (Make a Wish Foundation,
Camp Erin, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and more);  this
year, funds will be given to RAINN.ORG

All items in the auction are either crafted by a member of Chivalry
or sponsored by one. Past items have included lamp work beads,
custom painted shield, hand sewn rag dolls, block printed fabric,
and others. What will the Artisans of An Tir contribute this
year?

Please contact Arcos Dearbhail (b
rynphalan
(at) holdren-net (dot) us
)
with your donation information (Sponsor, Maker, Description,
Approximate Value). Forms will be printed to display with the
auction item.

All items must be pre-registered by January 2, 2017. Photos of
completed or similar items are appreciated to aid in the displaying
of items as well as posting in advance so that the populace can
plan their auction budgets. Items must be at the auction tables no
later than 10am Saturday January 14th. Unsold items may be claimed
that evening or will be donated to Kingdom Largess. This is a
silent auction – bidding begins on Saturday morning and continues
until 6:30 Saturday evening.

Speed Dating

Like flushing toilets antibiotics, some things from our modern
world make being in the middle ages a lot more fun. Do you ever
wish you had someone to camp with or share a bottle of wine at
feast with? Maybe you are tired of first dates rolling their eyes
when you start talking about the black plagues’ effect on
16th century population in Europe. Have you tried Quick
Courtship?” You’ll meet other anachronists, face-to-face for
several 6 minute “Pre-courtship conversations” We
facilitate the whole thing. We even provide the ice breaker
questions. There’s no awkwardness, no pressure, no embarrassment
just great fun! You give your match-making team your list of people
you want to get in touch with and we compare it to the other people
attendees lists. Then we email each guest a list of participants
who would like to hear from them again! It’s absolutely no
risk and we suspect it will be a lot of fun.

Queen’s Rapier Championship

Fight for the honor of the Queen of An Tir. We are planning on a
Sweet 16 format to be held Saturday afternoon. Lists open via
pre-registration and during court break on
Saturday.

YAFA Display

This display includes samples of the Tokens, as well as samples of
the Achievement criteria. Information regarding how to sign up as a
