GALACTIC CHAMPIONS

A long time ago,

in a Barony far far away….

The wild LOAT endlessly terrorized the good people of Lions Gate.

The brave CYNERIC and ARIANNA, Guardians of Peace and Justice,

assembled Their CHAMPIONS to bring balance back

to the radiant CAPITAL of An Tir.

Knights of the Shield, and Warriors of the Blade,

Guardians of the Bolt, and Defenders of the Axe

All are SUMMONED to join us on the hallowed

May the Fourth

To decide which CHAMPIONS shall carry the banner of Lions Gate

Against the COMING DARKNESS

 

Lions Gate “Galactic Champions” will be held on May 4^th, 2024 at Warner Loat Park in Burnaby, BC. Beyond the four primary championship tournaments, all with themed surprises and goodies, we will be hosting a variety of activities including: Paint-your-own illuminated bookmarks, Stormtrooper Shoots, Nerf Combat of Sword and Bolt, Lightsaber Combat Demonstrations, and thematic delights aplenty!

$20.00 Imperial citizens (General Population)

$10.00 Rebel agents (SCA Members)

***CROSSBOWS ARE NOT PERMITTED AT WARNER LOAT PARK***

PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN REFILLABLE WATER BOTTLES!

There will only be a very limited amount of single use water bottles by the fighting erics. Instead, please find the water taps in various locations on site and a water fountain outside the washrooms.

Accessibility Information

The site is outdoors, so please prepare for weather. Some limited parking will be reserved for persons with accessible hang tags or who use mobility devices.  Prepare for potentially muddy footing, which may be slippery, and for the potential of rain.

PARKING IS VERY LIMITED BY CONSTRUCTION.  Please consider parking along Winston Street once you have unloaded your cargo and passengers.  PLEASE TRY TO CARPOOL.

The 116 bus and the 110 bus will deliver you to Winston Street, a brief five minute stroll to the gate at Warner Loat Park.

Meal Information

There are no food vendors permitted, and no food trucks are available on site. Please bring your own picnic.

Tournament Information

Please join the Baron and Baroness of Lions Gate, Cyneric and Arianna, as they hold tournaments to determine the future Champions of Lions Gate in the fields of Heavy Armour Combat, Rapier Combat, Target Archery and Target Thrown-Weapons.

Volunteer Information

SCA members greatly welcomed for assistance at gate beginning at 8:30 am, and other volunteer opportunities will abound!  Voice heralds who would like to assist with the tournaments for heavy and rapier, please check in with Lists Table in the morning.

Merchant Information

Merchants will not be available on site.  Artisans of all kinds who wish to accept commissions or discuss their work in progress may bring tables or blankets to set up their arts or sciences or craft in the area adjacent to eric C.
