The edge of winter has melted away bringing Summer heat, heat hot enough to melt rocks. The citizens of Hartwood have decided this is the perfect time to test the worthiness of those that wish to fulfill the challenges and win the honour to call themselves Champions of Hartwood!

This year, we test the metal of Armoured, Rapier, Archery and Thrown Weapons August 16-18 in Central Hartwood at Camp Caillet.

For those that desire a more….gentle….event, we will be offering family fun activities, an Embellishers Guild meeting and tUTR classes..and what special classes we have, with more to come! We have the honour of hosting a leather tooling class (think quiver) with HL Angharad verch Cenydd. So excited! Also on board is a class for “I know someone who did a thing and I think they deserve a thing for doing it. I should write a thing.” aka, How to write a letter of recommendation. More classes to be announced.

Remember to bring your nighttime revelry for the ever popular, Bardic Circle, hosted by our Bardic Champion, Kyria Aspasia Bevelacqua. We recently discovered that National Tell A Joke day is during our event, so we challenge our bards (and our wannabes) to tell the best medieval joke. Test your material all weekend, but the competition will be Saturday night.

Worried you’ll have too much fun and forget to cook? No worries! Tucker Inn is opening their kitchen serving breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday!

Many more fun and exciting happenings to come!
