Please come celebrate the end of another wonderful year in
Wastekeep with our potluck Yule Feast!  We will hold
competitions for Baronial Bardic Champion and Baronial A&S
Champion at this event.

Hours: Doors open 10am, event ends by 6pm

– Bardic Competition: The bardic championship will be a two part
competition. Each contender must perform twice, either a song,
poem, or story. So everyone will do a piece, then a short break
before everyone presents their final piece. Pieces can be period or
period interpretations of contemporary pieces.

– Wastekeep A&S Championship instructions: Fairly simple,
fairly straightforward, single entry, documentation not required
but strongly encouraged, and it must be something that has not been
previously entered for a championship.

A populace choice award will also be offered.

– It Takes Two largesse competition: help us gather largesse to
donate to the Kingdom!  Create two pieces of largesse, labeled
with your name, branch, and Kingdom, and enter your
creations.  Contact Her Grace Stjarna to find out what kinds
of things would most benefit the Kingdom.  hotwings4k

Potluck feast suggestion:

Please
bring a dish based on your mundane last
name.


A-E
Desserts, F-K Bread, L-P side dish, Q-S appetizer, T-Z salad
(fruit, traditional, or pasta). Please include an index card with
ingredients listed for those with food allergies

Schedule (subject to tweaks):

(9 am Set-up)

10 am    Gate opens

11 am    Opening Court, followed by heavy fighters’
practice and Impromptu Rapier Tourney

11 am   Intro to Nalbinding (HG Stjarna) and both the
Largesse competition and Wastekeep A&S Championship entries put
on display

Noon    Intro to Embroidery (HL Ciosa) and
Children’s Activity (Lady Kata)

1 pm    Potluck Feast!

1:30    Wastekeep Bardic Championship
performances (during feast)

2 pm    First court of Their Excellencies
Thorkell and Gudrun, followed by Santa Baron and gift exchange
activity (with ambient food)

3 pm (ish)  Pelican meeting

3 pm (ish)  Target and Combat Archery Repairs 101 (HL
Rashida)

4 pm   Intro to Leatherworking (Milady Kaitlin)

5 pm   Knots 101 (Master Rowland)

6 pm  Clean-up followed by site closing

Cost: Free event, but please bring a dish to share at our
potluck feast (Barony provides the meat).

In addition, as is Wastekeep custom, we will be accepting
donations at Yule – this time we’re going to give to two different
groups.  For those that want to give toys for kids, we’ll be
accepting donations for the Bailie Youth Ranch.  They are
looking for items appropriate for children in the following age
ranges:

Girls ages 3-5 (3) Boys ages 3-5 (2) Girls ages 6-9 (10) Boys ages
6-9 (4) Boy ages 10-14 (4) Girls ages 10-14 (2)

For those who wish to donate food items, all donations will be
going to the Tri-Cities Food Bank, their list of needed items are
