My lords, ladies, and good gentles, pray attend! The Shire of
Glyn Dwfn invites you to join us to celebrate the coming of the
harvest with a bountiful feast. Come vie for the titles of Rapier
Defender and Champion of Arts and Sciences!
The A&S championship is two parted: master a skill and then
teach a class on that skill. Classes will be judged by student
feedback. 75% of the score will be determined by teaching the class
and 25% will be awarded based on research synthesis. To register
your class, contact HL Milisandia via Facebook under her modern
name, Amy Harper.
Bring your best weapon combination to fight for the honor of being
named the Rapier Defender of Glyn Dwfn! The championship is
scheduled for 1:00pm, and the format will be determined based on
number of fighters.
Come hungry because we will be having an amazing Celtic feast. The
feastocrat, Lord Fiorenzo, has aimed to provide dishes that can be
consumed by those with common dietary restrictions, such as gluten
intolerance or vegetarianism.
FIRST REMOVE (All removes will have bread accompanying them):
Autumn Harvest Soup— Squash, onions/leeks, carrots, brown
sugar, olive oil, salt, pepper, cayenne, vegetable stock
Venison Stew— Venison, carrots, leeks, barley, salt, pepper,
paprika, bay leaf, wine*, vegetable stock
SECOND REMOVE:
Roast Beef with Mashed Potatoes/Turnips— Beef, turnips,
potatoes, butter, vegetable stock
Roast Vegetables— carrots, onions, beets, squash, brussel
sprouts
Vegetarian Pasties— Crust (flour, salt, shortening, water),
squash, potatoes, carrots, onions, peas, leeks, wine*
Venison Pasties— Crust (flour, salt, butter, water), venison,
potatoes, carrots, onions, peas, wine*
THIRD REMOVE:
Apple Tarts with Candied Walnuts on the side— Crust (flour,
salt, shortening, water), apples, cinnamon, sugar, molasses, lemon
juice
Candied Walnuts—walnuts, sugar
Candied Almonds— almonds, sugar
Bread Pudding— Bread, eggs, milk, sugar
* Due to cook time, the alcohol has been evaporated from these
dishes *
A day board will be available to all to tide you over till meal
time.
Fees: The site fee is $20 or $15 with an SCA membership discount of
$5. Children 17 and under are free. Make checks payable to Shire of
Glyn Dwfn, SCA Inc.
