‘Tis the time of year when
the winter winds howl and the days draw short; so come spend an
evening with the Shire of False Isle and enjoy our warmth and
friendship.
Doors open at 5:00 pm. with a
potluck dinner at 6:00 pm. The Shire will be providing a meat
dish.
We are planning to have the
feast in two removes (courses), the main dishes and dessert, both
of which will be buffets. Please bring your feast
gear.
Between removes there will be
a competition for the best filk to a Christmas tune. Please
bring extra copies of your filk so all can join in on the
singing.
Everyone is encouraged to join in to provide other entertainment
(songs, stories, skits, riddles, etc.) both between removes and
during the dessert.
There will be prizes
for:
·
The best filk to a Christmas carol (must be SCA or medievally
inspired)
·
The best medieval riddle
·
The event stewards favorite entertainer
After the feast there will be games, music and maybe even
dance.
Attendees must make an
attempt at medieval style clothing. Some loaner clothing may
be available.
Note: The site is discreetly
damp
