Ravens Key War

Spend a week at the Ravens Key Castle site.
Come for Hartwood Birthday Bash and stay the week until Ravens Key War. (No charge for the intervening week’s camping.) Ravensley will once again defend innocent fungi from the raiding Cragmerian hordes. War points will be given for a Resurection Battle, a Seige Battle, a Boat Battle, a Maiden Rescue, Target Archery and Rapier Combat.

A&S points will be given for the Duello Cantare, Best Castle in any medium Contest and the Iron Cauldron Contest.
Just for fun we have the Sitting Duck Archery Shoot, the Duello Marshmallow and our annual Children’s Dragon Hunt.

Site fees: Adult – $10 Youth 12 to 17 – $5 Children under 12 – free Family – $25
The Non-member surcharge of $4 will apply. Make checks payable to the Shire of Hartwood.
Please advise the autocrats before the event if you wish to enter the Iron Cauldron contest so that sufficient supplies can be purchased. Merchants are welcome with a donation to our Raven’s Hoard.
Gate will be open as of noon Friday and closes at 2 pm Sunday.

Directions to the Site, 5222 Kingston St. Port Alberni, B.C.
From Lower/Middle Island – From the Inland Island Hwy take the Port Alberni side of the Qualicum Beach/Port Alberni exit and merge onto Hwy 4.

From Upper Island – From the Inland Island Hwy take the Port Alberni exit and turn right onto Hwy 4.

Follow Hwy 4 as it enters Port Alberni and takes you past a Coombs Country Candy shop on your right. Pass this and continue to stay to the right until you reach the lights at the far end of the Walmart/Extra foods lot. Turn right at these lights onto Cherry Creek Road. Follow the road straight through the four way stop and past the store until you come to Cowley Road. Turn left onto Cowley and follow the road as it becomes Best Road. Follow Best until you come to Kitsuksis Road. Turn right onto Kitsuksis and then take the next left onto Kingston Road. Proceed to the end of this gravel road, slowing down as you reach the gate at the end. Proceed slowly as there are children and animals around. Go to the end of the winding drive and you will find the castle site.
