Eat, Sing, Dance and be Merry. Celebrate winter with
Hartwood. Dress in the traditional blue & white or be
daring and wear green & white. (For those who do not have
the time or servants to create a new outfit in correct
colours, your presence is most important.) Bring Arts and
Science projects, past and present, complete or not, to
exhibit on the display table. Contests: A Bardic contest:
song, poem, story – period-like please. Use the
following words: Goose, Jubilo*, Lutefisk, Nativity, Sorry,
Tabard, White, Yule. (* means Jubilant) As the feast is held
during December, a prize will be granted to the Best Antidote
to Winter (note: Dry site). Use imagination! The
Children’s contest: a snowflake in any medium. White
Court Pas de Faux – A&S Hoax Competition, sponsored by
Mistress Nadezhda Toranova Entries are called for in the
following categories: 1) Holiday themed artefact: can be
documentation for a non-period item(such as popcorn strands
on xmas trees); reconstruction of an imaginary item (such as
marchepane tree topper). Interpretations of these guidelines
can be a loose as you like – just have fun with it. 2)
A story to explain a completely bizarre aspect of your
persona (think Japanese man in early Scotland or Viking
married to a woman from the Renaissance . . .). Please note
that “documentation” will take you far in both of
these categories. Prizes for Populace Choice and
Judges’ Choice in each category. Entries accepted

Small children eating from their parents plate – free. Ticket
sales end December 12. Non-member surcharge of $4.00. Make
cheques payable to The Shire of Hartwood.
