Come to
play! Come to dance! Come to feast!
The
winter has been cold and dark, and there are still many weeks
until the warmth of spring arrives. Yet despair not, for you
are welcome to the Barony of Wealdsmere to join Their Royal
Majesties in a day of merriment and revelry — Upon a
Winter’s Day. There will be games, dancing, and food
for all to partake. Among those activities will be contests,
a mask-making workshop, dance instruction, a culinary
activity, and a Masked Ball. Contests:

  • Games Tournament – 8 players, 3 rounds, different game
per round. Games will be: Nine Man Morris, Backgammon, and
    Alquerque.
  • Children’s Sculpture Contest – This is a chance for the
smalls to play with edible play-dough!
  • Best Period Food contest – Bring a period food (with
    documentation) for your potluck contribution.
  • Best Mask contest – Theme is winter. Will be judged
    during the masked ball.
  • Period Dance competition – For groups of 2-8 people.
Perform a period or common SCA dance. Points will be awarded
based on presentation and not necessarily on skill, so
beginners are more than welcome to give it a try! Bring your
    own music if possible.
  • Bardic competition – Will be held during the potluck
    feast. One entry per contestant.

A Potluck
Feast
will be held in the evening. Please bring a
contribution to feed 10 people according to your mundane last
name.

  • A-H: Appetizers
  • J-N: Dessert
  • O-Z: Main Dish
