Tournament
of the Golden Swan

Celebrate the
thirty-third Tournament of the Golden
Swan. There will be lots
of classes, contests, a rapier and a heavy
tourney, bardic competition and
more, including the infamous Jawbone of the Ass. Class lists and
information will be available closer to the date. 

This year,
Golden Swan will be held at Camp Boyle near Summerland,
BC. The site features
a large hall, indoor washrooms
and showers, outdoor camping, and
bunkhouses! We hope
the ancient tradition of
free-form bocce will break out at some point.

Saturday
will feature a catered feast, $15 for
everyone 12 and over.  Contact Autocrat to reserve a seat:
Feast tickets $20 on the day of the feast.  Please let us know
you are coming!

Sunday is
a potluck feast. Breakfasts and
lunch will be for sale Saturday and
Sunday.

The site will be discreetly
damp to dry. This is important.

There
are motels and B&Bs in
Summerland. The event site is a Scout
Camp 20-25 minutes drive from Summerland
itself on paved and unpaved roads, so plan
accordingly. 

Site
fees: Adults $25, children under
18 are free. NMS will apply. Day fee $15 adults, minors are
free. Make chequespayable to
the Society for Creative
Anachronism Shire of Appledore.

Saturday: Topher and Taliesin’s Cording, Taliesin’s Quill
Cutting, Meresigha’s Persona: Quick Tips and Tricks, and
Spanish Women in the New World by Illuminada.
Constructing a
Haversack with both Taliesin and Topher, Persona Development with
Tanikh, Welsh/Celtic Law by Marguerite, Period Gingerbread with
Illuminada and Glass Painting for Beginners with
Evangelina. 

Sunday: Anglo-Saxon
History with Meresigha, Using Historical Events to Enhance Your
Persona with Illuminada, Coldstone Lodestone with Evangelina,
Herbal Beads with Anya. Sunday afternoon it’s the Art of
Being Medieval with Tanikh and Olwyn’s Labyrinth
class.
