We acknowledge with respect that for thousands of years the Coast Salish First Nations have been deeply connected to the territories where we now have the honour to live, work and play.

You are invited to the idyllic coastal lands of the Salish Sea in Northern Hartwood as we celebrate the investing of the Heirs to the Storm Thrones, Tansist Saif and ban Tanist Alessandra. Their Highnesses, Sovereign Steinn and Consort Gemma, welcome Her Majesty, Queen Achaxe.

Watch in awe as the armored fighters battle for Guardian of the Spear. Activities include: Cut & Thrust; Rapier; Largess competition; Children’s Activities; TUTR; merchants; Bardic and more!

Their Excellencies, Tanist Saif and ban Tanist Alessandra so enjoyed the pageantry with the banners and different heraldry on display that we are asking you to bring these with you for your processional. This display can be any form. Banner, surcoat, baldric, decorated tunic, shield. We feel this adds to the event as a whole and helps us all embrace the experience more. If you don’t have a device that is ok, we are just asking that you try to come up with something that helps us identify you on the field.

Please note that this event is located on Vancouver Island. We STRONGLY recommend making a reservation at BC Ferries (https://www.bcferries.com/book-sailings) to catch the ferry you want. It is best to reserve sooner rather than later as they do book well in advance in the summer. We encourage you to create an account before making your reservation. This way, should you need to change your reservation, you can do so without penalty. Reservations can be made for vehicles and walk-ons.

Regarding leash laws: Dogs, or any other animals, must be leashed at all times as per RDN by law:

“leash” means a chain or other material not exceeding 2.4 metres in length or a retractable lead not exceeding 8 metres in length when fully extended, and suitable for control of the type and size of the dog or other animal attached to the leash

  • Armored Championship
  • Rapier
  • Cut & Thrust

Regarding the Championship tournaments from Their Excellency’s, Tanist Saif and Tanista Alessandra:

There will be a processional for the tournament that will be taking place before the thrones then moving to the appropriate fields.

We feel the importance of having an inspiration for the tournament. As is the tradition which connects back to the original tournament that initiated this great Society, inspiration, honour, and noble prowess will be on full display.
As Our princess Gemma said at the last coronet tourney This doesn’t need to be a person of romantic interest, just the ideal that you are bringing forward on the field. This inspiration can take many forms. A partner, a friend, a family member. They should represent something that inspires you , be it love, strength, or pure joy.
Please know this is something we are encouraging but is not a requirement. We don’t want to limit participation in the different events, so if these requirements would provide undo hardship please communicate with us.
With regards to anyone competing in the champion’s tournaments please be mindful of the oath you will be swearing. It is important that we remember that these tournaments carry an oath of responsibility. As we swore to reign; anyone entering these tournaments are swearing to carry out the duties of champion as listed below.
1. Duties of All Champions
a. To swear an oath of fealty and service to the Coronet.
b. To defend the honour and prestige of the Coronet and the Principality of Tir Righ, whenever such is challenged and to support the Coronet in war.
c. To attend all Coronet Events. Prior notification to Their Highnesses and Their Heirs must be made if the Champion is unable to attend.
d. To maintain membership in the Society during the Champion’s term of service.
e. To speak or act in the Coronet’s name when delegated to do so.
f. To further the interests of their area of endeavor.
g. To have access to the Northern Sentinel for the duration of their championship, in addition to membership requirements set forth in Kingdom Law and Corpora.
h. To organize the tournament to choose their successor

Regarding the Armored Championship

I speak with all might and rectitude of the Storm Thrones. Steinn & Gemma, strong storm hands of Tir Righ hold me in faith as their Champion. Saif & Alessandra, worthy heirs of thunder do endorse my authority.
The time of Investiture is soon to be upon us, and as our Principality passes from one worthy host to another we must also choose again our Champion. The Coronets of Tir Righ and their rightful heirs have tasked me to announce the rules and conventions by which the tournament shall proceed and I do so with relish.
Those who would carry the famed Boar’s Tooth, defend Tir Righ from all assailants, and guard its Coronets against all harm are invited to seek its Heavy Championship. The format will be swift but will demand courage and honour from all who would compete – we shall fight all contests by challenge.
Each round will be arranged by publically issued challenge. (In similar fashion to the traditional first round of challenges.)
Upon the completion of the challenges those who remain victorious will assemble on the “Knights” side, while those who have receives a loss assemble up the side of the “”Squires”. In later rounds combatants will retire from the field upon receiving their second defeat – a double elimination.
The tournament proceeds with the issuing of new challenges each round by those upon the “Squires” side (in order of precedence), to those upon the “Knights”. Rounds continue until only the finalist remain. Byes will be awarded to the undefeated combatant with the highest OP who has not yet received one.
Duke Ieuan Gower,
Heavy Champion of Tir Righ

Regarding the Archery Championship

Important information regarding Tir Righ’s August Investiture.

To the populace of Tir Righ;
Due to bylaw restrictions in the Regional District of Nanaimo we will not be able to have any missile type activities at Tir Righ’s August Investiture. We will not be able to have any archery or thrown weapons activities held at this site at this time.
Despite many hours invested by the Event Steward, HL Elphin, and the Principality Archery Officer, Archos Athelina Grey, and their teams, we have not been able to secure a permit with the Regional District of Nanaimo.
This has been a frustrating situation for all involved and not in our control even after providing all the requested details and information. We are not looking for solutions to this situation just care and support.
Their Highnesses, Royal Excellencies, Event Steward and Principality Officers have been working to find a viable solution to this situation. We thank you for your patience and understanding.
Tir Righ has requested and been approved for a variance from the Kingdom Seneschal to hold the Tir Righ Archery Championship at November Coronet to be held in the Shire of Lionsdale at the Albion Fairgrounds.
There will be more details forthcoming in regard to the Archery Championship after Tir Righ’s August Investiture.
We recognize this is a last minute change that may impact Peoples’ plans. We’re saddened that we can’t make it happen at this event as planned and look forward to seeing those that can still attend the event.
Please direct any question to the Tir Righ Seneschal.
